Just wondering if anyone on the good old BBS might know of any good job openeings in the Dallas area, preferably around Mesquite, TX.

I have a resume available if anyone knows of something. I have tons of Management & Customer Service experience....

I'd prefer something in the IT world, like web designing, even tech support... but I really just need something decent.

It's possible I'd move if I had to, but I'd really like to at least keep it local to Dallas...

If anyone knows of one please e-mail me at either:
    kmm03@iname.com
    or
    my-art@juno.com

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

I don't know of any job openings in Dallas, but I can tell you something that will make you sick:

My best friend from college moved back to Dallas after school, and much like yourself, sold car stereos (at Highland appliance). One of his customers thought he was a good salesman and recommended him to a company called Americable that sold networking products. He worked there for a while until one of his clients hired him away. He's still with that client, and he just got promoted to regional sales manager. That client? Cisco Systems.

My best advice. Do your resume up real nice in html. Make sure you list all of your relevant experience. Post it on all of the major job sites, and even if you're just looking for something entry level in IT, you will get some hits--if nothing else, just because your resume is in html. If you get your foot in the door, make sure you get some certifications--they go a long way in your next job hunt. Realize that you may have to hop around a bit at first to get to where you are paid decently.

IT professionals are very much in demand. I would reccomend going to one of the dozens of IT specific recruiting agencies. IT is a unique field right now, with much more demand than actual candidates. Many companies are now dependent on these firms to fill their openings.

Talk to them and see what they have to say -- and at the least they can point you in the right direction. At best they will probably find a job for you. The recruiters generally get a commission for successfully filling positions, so it's in their best intrests to match you with a job that needs someone with your specific skills.

    Iroc It :

Although this won´t help you (unfortunately), did you know that Germany desperately needs IT specalists? IT classes at college are up and coming, but we don´t have enough men to satisfy the entrpreneur´s needs...Schroeder even wanted to "import" 5000 Indians because they have such a big knowledge of IT.

There are plenty of jobs in Germany...isn´t the situation the same in the US? Just curious....

    IROC it,

If you're interested in IT positions in the DFW area (or anywhere for that matter), use a job search engine. You can search for jobs by region. Here in the DFW area, the hottest companies are tech companies. It's one reason I left Houston. The place is booming, especially the telecom industry. Here are a few of the better ones you can check out (all of these are great for IT jobs) :
    www.headhunter.net www.monster.com www.computerjobs.com www.dice.com

hey man i am in the dallas area moved from houston a year ago for an I.T. job feel free to email me..i recommend going to computerjobs.com or dice.com you probably have heard of them also post your resume monster.com I am getting a lot of california hits from my resume posting there...they have jobs in this area on all those sites...there are a lot of companies out here in the las colinas area for what its worth but far from mesquite .....another thing companies usually have a job section on their own website to direct contact them..but keep in mind these recruiters and HR people get 100's of resumes a day so i recommend following up with a phone call as well to separate your name from the rest...unless you are a java hoss or something which i am assumign you are not so dont expect people to fall at your feet..they dont for me and i have been casually looking myself..but there is demand here in dallas and tech support should be a breeze to get into....

    Thanks guys...

Sorry, sirhangover... I did get it, Thanks!

I don't think that net-temps thing is going to work out, but I've got a prospect I'm going to tomorrow, so maybe I'll be re-employed in a couple of days. [IMG]
