Hey guys, I have a couple of interviews lined up this week and I need help with something. Whenever the interviewer asks "what type of salary are you looking for", how am I supposed to answer that question without asking for too much.

Know what the job should pay.

Then respond something to the like of "i'd expect something competitive. i've heard the range is ..."

Hopefully they'll respond in the higher range -- not wanting to be too cheap. Or it will give them an in to discuss the salary without shooting down your price.

    or

answer, "Really???!!! I get to choose? Go big baby! Daddy just hit the motherload!"

These jobs never mentioned their salary that's why I was asking. I appreciate your answer and it sounds like a very good response to that question....thanks
