well the pistons have not won anything since trading away wallace. there is a reason why the pistons won championships without a superstar. To me wallace really anchored that team. no matter whether its defence or offensive rebounds. The guy was everywhere on the court. JK is similar in that terms for me. The bulls can really go out and run with JK at the back defending the rim and crashing the boards.
Noah plays his heart out no matter which team he's up against and he actually performs better on bigger stage. The guy has heart and you can't practice that, you are either born with it or you don't have it. Noah is the kind of guy that is rare to find in today's NBA and IMO that's why he's untouchable. And yes I would trade Yao for him in a heartbeat too.
Leaving salary cap issues aside, there's no way the Bulls shouldn't trade Noah to Denver for Melo. Noah is indeed a rare, hard to replace player. But he's nowhere near the irreplaceable level as Melo. You can find his replacement either through FA or through the draft if you're diligent and scout well. Good garbagemen may be valuable, but findable. OTOH, good 25+ppg scorers can be counted on one or two hands at most. And almost never available for trade. That said, I think the biggest issue with the Bulls offer is that Denver doesn't like Deng's contract. Unlike other teams, Chicago doesn't have enough "spare" pieces to make the trade work neatly. That is, a combination of young talent, expirings, and picks.
So because they won't trade him for Carmelo Anthony means he's untouchable? How so? Why would you want to form your own version of a 'big 3' that was a lesser version in every way to the Heat? I mean every single Heat counterpart would be better than the Bulls little 3. How do you expect to beat a team using that formula?
Wow. Did you read what you wrote? Yao ming for Jakim Noah? Lmao. Yao Ming is the best and most efficient center in the league. You'd trade him for Jakim Noah? Why? Because the guy has heart? lol. The guy is a taller and more talented version of Chuck Hayes. The Rockets would be idiots if they traded Yao for another "huster player". How quickly do we forget how valuable a low post presence is
Noah brings elite defense and rebounding, and by elite i mean he's probably the best defending big man and rebounder in the game. He had 6 block against the Lakers, two against Pau Gasol.
You won't find many 25+ PPG, but lower your standards to 22 PPG and you'll find more than a dozen guys. Melo isn't that good simply because he lacks a 3 pt shot, and his post-scoring skills are redundant since they already have Boozer the Loozer there. Noah fits the team better, and they won't have to pay 20M for his services, to boot.
Yao is the better player, but he's had season-ending injuries for the last 5 seasons and is currently limited to 24 minutes per game by fears of another injury. Multiplying each player's talent by his durability, Noah probably is more valuable now.
Yao Ming missed one full year and he still doesn't expect to be 100percent. Expecting him to be the same best and most efficient center is asking alot.
Bynum can stay healthy for 2 months every season and he's getting 14M/y. And he's considered untouchable as well. In that sense, Noah is very untouchable.
