Umm...Perhaps by going 3-3 for 7 points in 6 critical minutes in the third quarter?

I trust JL3 with minimum minutes. No more than 12mpg. He's like a high risk Ginobili. You just know something stupid is gonna happen at the very worst time should you leave him there too long no matter how much good he is doing. When he's done enough positive, you yank him upon the first hint that he'll do something crazy.

JL3 is a scoring guard, that is what he does, he is NOT a PG....but the Rockets don't need a true PG right now....

They need someone who can dribble - Check

Someone who can score - Check

Someone who can create for himself and others - check

I like JL3 at backup PG..

I hope he gets more minutes.

The only true PG behind Rafer is V SPAN- if that makes me a VSPAN lover so be it. Jl3 is a good spark of Energy- and we can use his skills when we need a scoring boost ( or are in the run-n-gun mode), but the will be a HUGE defensive liability.

Luther is the worst of the 3 as a PG. He is in there because JVG trusts him and he has paid his "dues".

Note to our PG's- If you are going to Pass to Yao, dont make those dumb knee high Bounce passes.

It's almost as if some people didn't even watch the game last night and are just repeating the same things over and over again.

Look, if you are basing this on last night's game, there's not a single negative thing you can say abou JLIII. Offensively he pushed tempo, made his shots, and had no turnovers. He might have missed a couple of chances to get the ball to Tracy on a post up, but as has been said, he noticed that the opposing team's defense was doubling Tracy before the pass and penetrated - call his shot luck if you want, but it went in.

Defensively, he did a better job on the Clipper's point guards than Rafer did. With a taller 2 guard, JLIII defense is only a problem against PG's who like to post up. Off the top of my head, that means Chauncy Billups, basically...maybe Baron Davis?? On the other hand, Rafer is a horrible defender against quicker PG's who can blow by him. Off the top of my head, that means Nash, Parker, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Jason Terry, TJ Ford, A.I., Agent 0...basically everyone else.

I'm not a bandwagoner. But Lucas played great last night. He has a quickness to him that no one else on the team even comes close to. If he could just get into a comfort zone out on the court so every mistake doesn't relegate him back to the bench, and the team gets a little chemistry playing with him, it could be a good thing. Figuring it out in the last 10 games of the season, though probably not the smartest idea.

John Lucas III's best asset is his energy and passion...it's contagious and I notice he's very good in situations when the Rockets tend to fall asleep and slack off. Every team needs a short guy who comes out there and plays like his life depends on it.

Simply put, JLIII is our modern day Scott Brooks. He serves a purpose.

I use to defend Rafer's D, but the last few games have been horrible. Against the pick and roll, he drops back way to far and even then he still can't seem to recover his position against the drive. He's been fine guarding dribble penatration and has some quick hands for steals, but its like his defensive mindset goes out the window against the pick and roll.

JLIII did a much better job fighting through the picks and staying in front. Its too bad he over dribbles, and I doubt we'll see much of him unless Rafer continually gets killed on D. While we're mentioning PG defense, Head is like the downsides of both of those two guys. He has the same tendencies of Rafer to give up when picked, and gets posted up by bigger guards.

Yes Ginobili, I can't think of anyone else who's more likely to do something stupid on the court.

Are you just dumb, or stupid?

Ginobli is an awesome player, one who defenses have a horrible time scheming against because he is so creative.

Players like this are what make the game great.

How can one who is stupid enough to believe Vspan is the future assume I'm dumb.

I'm talking about Ginobili's randomness, not his skill. Who the hell would compare their level of skill. He's still likely to do something stupid on the court at critical times despite his production. Why do you think he doesn't get 30+ minutes. Pop knows him and is using him to his full extent and he's producing within it. If he goes past the limit you could have an incident such as fouling Dirk for an And1 while up 3 right after making a big shot to give your team that same lead. What do you think Lucas would do if he gets 25mpg. I've never seen anything stupider in basketball.
