Vspan had have many chances, and he blow it. I won't mind give JL3 a little bit more playing time. As to Vspan, he is at mercy of JVG.

that's a good other side of the coin thought...still, it's a good thing those shots fell in cause he'd be riding the pine again if those didn't...

John Lucas is hated, he made 3 big shots in a row, one of them a 3 pointer, he made the same amount of 3s as Rafer, and took 7 less attempts, Rafer made 1 more basket, but took 8 more attempts. He needs to come into the game when the time is right, he was all up on Jason Hart, and then Rafer got put in and guess who made the basket.

I love JJ, but he's not quite up to Rafer's level yet. If he can make his shots, he's good for the offense, but when he doesn't, he's a liability. Luckily, he made his shots tonight. The problem is he gives up way too many inches to be a good defender. That's why he won't be getting more minutes anytime soon... :(

I completely agree with most of fans here. We need to develop a qualified backup PG to take up some playing minutes of Rafer. Although Rafer has been playing with high efficiency in the season, we can't keep playing him like this or he'll be out of gas sooner or later. We all have seen what Luther were doing in the PG position. Luther is good SG, but not a qualified backup PG. I do not have confidence to see Luther as the PG in the playoffs. So if we must choose one backup PG between JL3 and VSpan, it's time to decide now. Just 5-8 minutes per game and see what this new backup PG can do.

I didn't say it was open. But I liked the fact that it wasn't a desperate, well covered three or a crazy, improbable floater from 15 feet out.

It was the difference between taking what the defense gives or settling for it.

I still like Rafer having most of the ball handling and running the offense duties, but sometimes I wish he was the type of guy that had the mentality to punish the defense for slacking off of him, keep it honest, and make the game that much easier for our stars. That's what I appreciated about JLII's few minutes of play tonight. It was a welcome change of pace. Nothing more, nothing less.

jl 3 made a good difference tonight. whats sucks is that his height will ultimately be his limiter. i think his perimeter defense is adequate, but most teams will try to post him up with any larger guard. he can create his own shot which is huge on this team. i thought he ran the offense pretty well a whole lot better than luther thats for sure. i see to be a mike james-lite in terms of skill. had he been taller, say luther's size, he may have seen a whole lot more minutes

lucas is a very efficient scorer when he gets in the lane thats one thing he is 10X better than rafer at he can also shoot better he just needs the confidence. if he could bulk up and get stronger he could hold his own defensively i mean earl boykins is only 5'5 but he can hold his own defensively so height shouldnt be a factor.

i'm sick and tired of having such a small backcourt. having JL3 play more certainly doesn't help that.

JL is the best we have now and he played prety well. However, when the game was tied, JVG got Rafer backin immediately b/c JL doesn't run the offense well. He shot the ball great but he still lacks in the offensive set apartment. No way he takes over for Rafer but if he hits his shots he certainly will see more time

As somebody has said, he can't pass the ball well to either T-mac and Yao.

i have no objection to more minutes for JL3, just don't call him a POINT GUARD.

    JL3 > Luther @ pg.

luther can't even make it past half court w/o loosing the ball.

and at least jl3 drives to the bucket instead of launching wide open air balls.

guys keep in mind that JL3 wasn't here to play like a pg. he was here to do some scoring and spark energy to the team.

JL3 is not a good PG like alston who can make entry pass to Yao or setting up plays for the team. What JL3 is good or should be good at is taking open shots. When JL3 is on the floor teams will more than likely ignore him and double team Yao or Tmac. This is the opportunity JVG want JL3 to have. Be the open man and make those shots.

On the other hand V-span is your PG and he needs to improve his shooting and dribble before he will get more minuates. If both Vspan and JL3 having the same shooting touch than obiously vspan is our better choice.

What JVG need is to involve more players beside tmac and Yao into the rotation for playoffs. we are locked for the 5th spot. Can we catch Jazz for home court? honestly I doubt it, but we don't need home court in order to beat the Jazz. we get no homecourt in 2nd round anyway, so why should we need it in first round?

Lucky shot? Even if it rolled out hes much more efficient on the floaters and penetration. I don't know about the 3 ball though.
