Eh, I guess he's athletic to an extent, but his toughness, hard work, and high energy level are a lot more central to his game.
I have been pretty hard on Jermaine because he just looked so far away from being a contributor, a guy that had the ball in his hands every time he played and looked lost in an offense like Houstons. However, I think playing in the D-league and being around the team has helped a lot, last night he looked very poised and understood his role. I hope he, Budinger, and Hill get major minutes the rest of the year. DD
athletic scorer who can get to the basket and shoot but has questionable bball iq? He reminds me of a poor man's JR smith (mind you, very poor). I think we've been very spoiled watching brooks and landry go from promising rookies to major contributors, but despite that bias, I see JT's potential as a JR type player.
At this point, I haven't seen anything to lead me to believe he'll be more than a quality back up. But considering where we drafted him, that's pretty fantastic.
I was impressed with Taylor's defense the most the last game against the Lakers. He frustrated Kobe on a couple of plays cause he has the quickness to stay with him and also the body to not get pushed around. If he keeps developing his jumper, he can potentially be like what Wafer was last year with his explosiveness.
he is very aggressive on defense, i didn't know he had the vision he showed last night, and im not sure how tall he is, but based on what i saw last night, he could be a good player in this league, but he is certainly a project
No dude, he's pretty athletic. He's a bowling ball with good quickness and speed and CAN dunk the ball and finish well at the rim despite his size
I knew he could score (and shoot), but I had no idea he could pass like that. That was awesome to see last night. He played pretty decent defense on Kobe... got lost of a few times, but those are rookie mistakes. He has the tools to be an All-Star player. Still, those are rare.
For some reason, he just doesn't look that quick to me. He can jump pretty high and is pretty athletic, but he just looks a step too slow most of the time. Every time I notice him going to the hoop or trying to set up a play, I feel like his reaction time is just not where it should be.
So Jermaine Taylors has star potential, budinger has star potential and hill has star potential? gotta love how rocket fans overrate their players
