I am astounded that you can use the sample size of your black friends and conclude that I am mistaken in my assertion that more black people became interested in golf after Tiger Woods emerged.

    From Sporting News:

I'm not saying that golf is now the #1 sport amongst black people, but its popularity has certainly increased.

Again, this is what you said.

So you did say it's a but for cause, when it's not. And I just told you why it's not a but for cause.

Just admit you were wrong and stop trying to backpedal. You equated a cause to Lin, in this case a but-for cause. But you don't even know what but-for cause means. What you wanted to demonstrate is the butterfly effect.

It's like we traded in a GlenRice for a Spooner then traded for a Kronos.

However, I think Kronos' foot in mouth comments are quickly ascending him to GlenRice status.

B/c they don't have that ghetto thug mentality. They speak proper English, not Ebonics. They wear tight clothes and not big and baggy clothes. They listen to rap though. Who doesn't? Quit trying to act like you don't know what i mean when i say "white washed." Same can be said for my "white washed" hispanic/latino friends.

Nobody asked if you were blaming Lin, you keep telling people to look up stuff banking on the chance that they won't and just take your word for it. Somebody said that 2 weeks ago the Knicks were 8-15. You said Knicks would be the in the playoffs with or without Lin, because without Lin, Melo wouldn't be injured.

You can just stop at "even if Lin being on the court caused Melo to get hurt," because that's ridiculous reasoning due to the aforementioned supposition and post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy. I don't care if you're blaming Lin or not (you are, by the way. Ask your damn professor), that is just logical inconsistency at its finest.

Hold on, so if a Chinese person did not have a ghetto thug mentality, spoke proper English and wore tight clothes.

    He is white washed?

You should stop posting as of now.

I say you need to open your little brain more. There are other cultures, not just black and white.

So let me get this straight

In your mind, white people are the only ones who speak their country's language properly and wear non-baggy clothes?

    Haha oh wow

Hey, tell us how you feel about Indians or maybe the Japanese next. So the whole board can see how biased you are.

They don't fit your preconceived notions of how a black person is supposed to act, so they are white washed. You would be surprised to find that their are millions blacks that don't have "that ghetto thug mentality and speak proper English". It doesn't make them white washed. It just means your limited value doesn't fit people.

what the hell are we arguing then? If their was nothing but Asian and Mexican players in the league and an Afrian-American came from nowhere and started playing well, the same **** would be happening. Maybe like Jackie Robinson back then in baseball? It shouldn't annoy you. You're really just arguing in circles.

No, it applies to them too. I get many asian friends who claim they used to be "gangsta" in and out of jail. They can finish a sentence without saying "*****." They call people "white washed" as well.

Right? If those same blacks were meth heads with missing teeth, I have a feeling that he would not call them white washed.

It's still funny to me that people make it all about race.

You like people who you can relate to, so naturally, people associate to race as one of the criteria. It is not, however, the sole reason why people like others.

It's also amusing that Kronos attempts to rationalize his entire argument on the basis of race and how his very small sample size of his "white washed" friends as reason why we, the people of the NBA dish - a place where we talk about players NOT on the Rockets, are being "homers". I'm guessing when you say "homers", you don't mean people that are "rockets fans", but foreigners that aren't what you see as "American", we are just all Asians in your eyes. Oh wait, am I jumping to stereotypes when I am bringing up race? Apparently, according to you, stereotypes exist for a reason, so they must be reality. I'm sure there are some stereotypes about your race (whatever you are) that you would vehemently say as untrue.

Regardless, Jeremy Lin is having a good couple of games. I will not say "run", because we DO NOT know what his constant level of playing is, yet. Will he be a 20-10 guard? who knows? I have had no indication from his playing that he will improve or drop off. Just enjoy.

In cases of fault he's a but for cause at best so no matter what I was saying about Lin causing it he's not at fault. I was not calling him the but for cause in my original statement.

J Lin will be fine. He has confidence. Every game he proves the haters wrong. He was constantly double teamed when the Mavs hedged the pick and roll all game long and still ended up with 28 points,14 dimes, 5 steals, and 7 turnovers in 45 min. J Lin kept on attacking the basket even with Marion, Haywood, and Dirk collapsing. Where are all the haters at. The irony of the feel good story we all know is that with J Lin's success and every Knicks win the Rockets 2012 pick goes down the tube. D M was suppose to be the money ball king. So all the whites who root for Tebow and all the blacks who support black athletes are homers???? J Lin is the future. If look at all the stats, which ESPN keeps on showing J Lin is in elite company. Anyone who really knows the game of basketball knows those numbers will come down. But realistically with Melo,Amare,& JR Lin will avg.15pnts and 15-20 dime. Anyone who knows a smart asian, has to admit. Asians don't get dumber.
