Deep inside you guys just dont believe the kid can play and conviniently ignore what has done. The scoring isnt the story here. Sure there are plenty of one tim hits and put Steve Francis in that category too. Lin is diffrent, if you dont see that, I only can say thats because you are biased. Without the two mega stars, Lin rose to lead the Knicks to four wins. Even Yao couldnt do that in his fourth year. The story is the wotk ethics, the basetball iq and the modesty the kid is having.

You don't need a Harvard education to be polite and humble. It's a good upbringing. Not to be race-specific or anything, but Asian culture dictates that if you put your life and soul into a career path, you WILL get noticed.

I heard Jalen Rose say that Lin is shooting something like 23% outside of five feet. Assuming that is true, that seems like a pretty good place to start trying to contain him.

I assume that people are going to get serious about game-planing against him after the very public showing last night.

He knocked down majority of his outside shots in last night's game.

Anyways, where/how can we watch the Knicks-Twolves game tonight? Y'all know of any sports bars in Houston with League Pass..?

    ..streaming?

I hate that this is happening to our draft pick. Most likely to move outside the lottery altogether.

    With that aside....................

There is no way that anyone can claim to be a fan of basketball and not absolutely love what is happening with this kid. In basketball terms, I love everything about him, his swag, his attitude, his humility, his skill set, his charm, his determination, his will to win, his team first mentality. He has blown up big time and I sincerely suspect he is going to be THE STORY of the shortened 2011-2012 season.

And as much as I hate the Knicks, when I watch him, I keep wanting more of it.

All real basketball fans love what Jeremy Lin is doing.

Can agree with that. Even with "the rise of the point guard", the BIGGEST (literally "big") reason I'm for getting superstar big man is that, HISTORICALLY since the 70s, NBA CHAMPIONS are NOT point guard dominant teams.

CONTENDERS, yes. Title WINNERS, not really. Its just the fact of it. Can see a list right there -

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues

With the exception of Magic who was a freak, there arent that many CHAMPIONS whose BEST player was their point guard. Still need GOOD point guards. Tony Parker and Chauncy Billups were finals MVPs. But where they their team's ABSOLUTE best player?

Its still a Big + Wing league. TO ME: No matter what gripes people have about the Yao and McGrady, that was the RIGHT approach.

(Alright back on this Lin thing now...)

Jeremy Lin is the lottery pick we just waived. Maybe we should trade a 1st rounder to get him back.

For sure. Its not to say that the big numbers are all FLUKES. Not at all, there's real talent there with the guys I mentioned.

To counter my own point, why arent Tony Douglas and Shumpert and Mike Bibby getting it done on the same team? Ish Smith, Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayles, CJ Watson and guys like that, how come they're not "balling out of control"?

Obviously its talent and skill level separating them, not just rules by itself. Cuz if it was PURELY rules than that means every non-drafted player and up would be succeeding.

I just think the rules are worth factoring in a little is all. Maybe a 5-10% help in rules is all it takes for 5-10% of point guards to get good results.

Who's going to play him in the Hollywood movie version? I'm guessing it'll be some white guy and they'll change his name to Jeremy Lynn.

Anyone else notice that asian people play really hard on the courts after something like this happens?

I'MA FAN of Lin (I'm in his home state), but last "skeptical" view - WHO ELSE on that team is GONNA TRY TO SCORE?

Knick/Lakers boxscore and Knicks starting lineup.

    Landry Fields: glue guy
    Tyson Chandler: defensive post player
    Jared Jeffries: poor offensive player.
    Bill Walker: role player.

    Off the Bench:
    Steve freaking Novak

Considering that CHRIS DUHON went OFF in D'Antoni's system, (Leandro Barbosa, anyone?) its a PERFECT STORM for a point guard to go all Derrick Rose having to do ALL the playmaking.

Lin have made the Knicks must see TV. As much as I've enjoyed laughing at the Knicks' misfortune over the past decade or so. This is much more entertaining.
