Daryl Morey was at MSG tonight scouting Jeremy Lin. Expect him to put together some kind of package to get Lin from the Knicks. Go Morey!
I'd like to add a warning: the entire interview is essentially about his faith and religion. Nothing wrong with it, just thought people should know. The most surprising part from the interview is when he called the Stanford coach a liar.
Jeremy experienced some racism during highschool and college, I remember Dat Nguyen(ex Cowboy linebacker) went through that during his highschool and collegiate days. Dat said" People used to throw eggrolls on the fields and hurled racial epithets at me". This Lin kid is a wonderful story, I will be rooting for him!
I think it was a jab at Kobe and the Colorado incident, that he would take out his frustation after the game.
He's gonna come back down to earth, he's not this good. But the verdict is in on him in one form, he's a legit NBA player. Not quite ready to jump on the he's a star bandwagon, I wanna see if the jumper he showed tonight sticks, but he's a player. Interesting to see how Melo adjusts. Amare loves to be spoon fed, so he'll fit right in, but Carmelo is gonna have to make a major adjustment. Between Lin, the melo factor, and the rockets draft pick, this team has become ridiculously interesting to me, and I hate the usual New York hype machine. I've watched 3 straight Knicks games from start to finish, an plan on catching the next few at least.
Just to clear things up Lin isn't the first ever Taiwanese NBA player... I don't know why everybody is saying that. Clearly people have forgotten a Joe Alexander, born in Taiwan.
Yeah, me too. IF he keeps this up for the rest of the season, I can see somebody offering him the max just to make the Knicks have to match it. Of course, that would probably work in the Knicks favor because they would then have 4 large contracts that they could break up down the road if they needed to and they would be will over the cap, giving them the full MLE for next season to use as well.
I don't think Flip ever even approached the kind of numbers and PER Lin has been putting up. Not really a great comparison.
