Who'd you rather have for your PF/C?

Both very talented offensive players. Jefferson is more of a classic post up player / rebounder. Stoudemire is a dynamic finisher and PnR player. Neither player is very good at defense.

The only thing amare has on Al Jefferson is hype, and maybe a lil bit of athleticism (sp?) but when it comes to Defense Amare plays none while Al Jefferson does... i'm shocked durvasa u said that Al doesnt play D? thats like saying T-mac and all of his team mates see eye to eye

Jefferson can do what Stoudamire does much better than Stoudamire can do what Jefferson does.

I'll take Al hands down. He just may be the best PF in the game right now.

Umm Al plays defense. Amare? Heh, no. Amare's more athletic, has a better mid range shot and face up game and ft, al is ALOT better post up player than him, plays defense, rebounds better, etc.

AL better rebounder. But I prefer someone play a little defense.

None of them play defense. More importantly, none of them can carry a team, make teammate better. Thus they are no potential to be a franchise player like Yao ming/Tim Ducan. They'll be regular-oppearance, fan-to-watch all stars. But that's it. You can't build team around them. that's why they are often in trade talk and actually were traded when they are still on peak. Franchise player never get trade when they are on peak unless they are totally broke up with owners.

You're way off. The Celtics recognized Jefferson's talent and potential yet made the smarter move at the time by dealing that attractive package to Minnesota for KG for a chance to "win now". That's the ONLY time in the next at least five years you'll hear Al Jefferson's name in trade talks. He's 24-years-old and molding into a legit franchise player you can build a team around. Not only that but he's dominating a position that few others can. You are sadly mistaken if you think the T-Wolves aren't wise to build around him.

Not even debatable. Hands down Al Jefferson is the better overall player.

Outside of Amare's 15 footer, the only other thing going for him is his athleticism, which will diminish as he gets older.

Al isn't a good defender but at least he tries. He brings a professional attitude while Amare doesn't.

Al is a very hard worker on top of being very talented; Amare is just very talented.

Neither of them are true centers though. Neither would be playing center in the NBA ten years ago.

al doesn't have the star-look though.

i know he is a good person and all, but he is pretty darn ugly...
t-mac isn't good looking either, but he has that star look, that just sells. :D

Hilarious that you use Yao Ming as your counter-example.

A man's look has nothing to do with being a star.

Physically, Al Jefferson looks a lot like Moses Malone to me. I think that guy was a star.
