McHale sucks When you are comparing a Rookie mid 30 guys with him, it shows you how pathetic McHale was.
neither. tho i think mchale should've been given more time, jb aint much better. i dunno if a coach can fix a group of players who dont give a crap
What is the point of this poll? McHale brought the Rockets to WCF, and probably got more out of the players than the talent that was there considering injuries especially late in the season and playoffs. He must have known how to push the right buttons, and the players bought in. Not sure McHale was the best at X’s & O’s. I definitely was frustrated when he didn’t make adjustment during games when it appeared the other coaches made adjustments that turned the games. That said, do think JBB is an extension of the McHale coaching style and I’m not liking the defensive effort side of this year’s team (practically nonexistent). I think players might try harder but only because they don’t want to be branded a “coach killer”. Of course they try harder for their own stats. Playing for a TEAM goal is just not there. What is the point of this poll? Some major changes should be made, coaching and players.
I've explained the point of the poll in an earlier post. Basically it is to gauge the amount of people who have seller's regret on McHale now that we sacked him and haven't improved. So far, the returns show a lot of us (myself included) would prefer McHale back. He took the fall for a bunch of players that aren't up to it. That falls on the player. Not the coach.
Although I can understand people not wanting McHale, firing him was, IMO, not the right move at the time that they did it. Especially if they were just going to promote JB. So if the options are only McHale or JB, I would choose McHale.
I hope to goodness we fire JB and his dance moves. He is like your friend/co-worker that you drink on the job with and the next day he is your boss. Will i know im not going to really listen to what he says...he is my friend that I party with.
Either because there is no coach that can make Harden want to care at this time, and that is the only kind of difference maker for what's happening right now. He's going through something that addicts go through: he doesn't see that bottom coming up at him. When he does, he'll wake up and start to play with heart again, and the rockets won't be worried about the coach at that time. We just have to wait for him
You'd have to have first liked the sacking before you get an opportunity to regret. I thought it was stupid to fire McHale midseason. You can fire coaches midseason on a lotto team because their season doesn't matter anyway. But on a team that wants to contend, a new coach doesn't have time to install his own system, ask for certain role-players, or do anything but play caretaker for someone else's plan. If we hadn't sacked McHale, he'd have a chance to make his own plan work. Bickerstaff isn't going to have success making someone else's plan work. I think Les more or less wrote off the season when he fired the coach.
