he is expected to be a late first round-early second round pick. UNC SR. - NBAdraft.net lists his comparison as joe smith while draftcity.com says "best case" kirilenko - "worst case" eddie griffin.

i think he should be looked at for his ability to play either foward spot, hit the midrange J, and for his lockdown D.

That's a pretty bad best case/worst case. And I'm a UNC homer.

You must be one too :p

I don't get the EG comparison. He's not as long; he's far more intense and focused. He looks like a solid rotational 3 who could surprise.

I mentioned in an old thread some months ago that he sounds somewhat like T-Mo. I'd be interested in picking him up if we can scrounge a second-rounder. However, a true PF has to be our priority (although I am interested in Angelo Gigli, who sounds like a Robert Horry type)

he would be intriguing. i've always thought he'd at the least a solid role player with the posibility of becoming a very good overall player. i just think that we need a PF much more. but if we sign or trade for a PF i think this could be okay. still need another tall, fast, athletic guard firt.

Actually the knock on him is his intensity.. For a guy his size and on the team he was on he should be able to get alot more rebounds and blocks yet all i seem to recall of him is shooting 3s and catching alley oops. I dont think hed be a guy that could come in and contribute right away for us.. Just my opinion.

Having watched Jawad for four years, I'd say I was a little disappointed he didn't progress any further than he did. I think there were many factors involved though, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a very valuable 3/4 in the NBA. He seems like a guy that could be very good as a sixth man on the right team. At times at UNC, he was an extremely efficient scorer, and I think that will translate to the NBA. He's never gonna average more than 5 or 6 RPG, but I think he's definitely got range to hit the NBA 3, and can post up a little offensively(still needs work but has some potential to be serviceable in this area), and can guard most 4, and probably most 3's. I'd love for the Rockets to get him, and while I wouldn't be disappointed if we grabbed him at 24, I'd rather us get him by picking up a second rounder for someone and grabbing a more traditional 4 like Diogu or Simien.
