This guy has got to learn how to catch a ball. His numbers don't look that bad sometimes but hes never catching the ball, turning the ball over and not getting a rebound. Does anyone know why he is having this problem?

Well he hasn't played much in two years..he's a big man and needs to develop his footwork, ballhandling and recieving. It's not like he was a lock for stardom coming out of the draft, just a servicable big man.

Maybe I'm slow but it is just dawning on me that guys like Collier and Langhi hardly ever get to play basketball (or stay in shape for that matter) once the season starts.

They see little game action and there are very few practices. How can they be expected to improve unless given some regular game time? Collier said it best, "It's not garbage time to me..."

Does anyone rememeber "Stone Hands" Cato at the first of the year? However, with practice he has enhanced his catching and passing skills. With PT Collier will IMO make similar strides. Don't write him off yet. Look at his hustle, his really mean picks and, yes, his desire. But, Jason, limber up!

A couple of those passes were basically ones you don't make to a center. The worst was the bounce pass from Brown on the break. It looked pretty, because he threaded the needle between two defenders, but he had to put spin on it and it hit Collier in full stride right in front of the basket. Not too many centers can make that play.

On another note, I wish Rudy would take this opportunity to play Collier with Cato. It's obvious Cato is better defensively and Collier is better offensively. With the dings to our other power forwards, I would like to see this combo for awhile.

Good points, both! Collier really was drafted as a power forward who could provide backup for the Dream.

Admittedly I haven't seen much Rockets ball on TV this year since I live outside of Houston, but I was fortunate enough to catch the Rockets-Bulls game on WGN last Saturday and thus was forced to watch Collier on the basktetball court. Yikes!

He has bulk but man the guy looks absolutely LOST on the court! People would be flying around him and he had no idea what to do. He looked SOOOOO slow out there. Perhaps the fact he looked lost is correlated to the fact he has been given minimal playing time but nevertheless the guy just did not look like he belonged on the court or even meshed with the team at all. I was salivating to see Cato back in the game!

I just don't see Collier as the answer to any of our problems in Houston. I was never a big fan of him when he was drafted and after seeing him progress slowly over the last year I just don't get the feeling that he will be productive in our system. As far as I am concerned the Rockets should dump Collier and Langhi for new blood.

Collier is no Steve Francis when it comes to speed, but perhaps the reason he looked slow and lost was because he is not accustomed to playing with his teammates in game situations. Have you ever played one of those fighter pilot games as a novice playing on the expert level? I'll wager you got clobbered, looked slow and didn't have a clue as to what your squadron or opponents were doing. Please give Collier a chance to grow under game conditions.
