This is an unimportant trivia question but one that's driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Question: In what James Bond movie does he save himself by wrapping a can of shaving cream in a towel, dousing the towel with after shave, lighting it and blowing the bathroom door down. The reason for doing this is that while taking a shower poison gas started seeping in.
shaving cream...hmmmm. goldfinger he uses it in the plane to block the peepholes from p***y galores evil stuardesses. ;p eh prolly one of the craptastic ones that no one likes to watch like never say never again or on her magestys secret service. outside guess tho but prolly wrong...id say octopussy
we could narrow it down if you could remember which Bond it was... Connery Moore Lazenby Dalton Brosnan
It must be one of the spoofs, because that never happened in one of the UA/MGM released films (20 films to date). So that leaves: Casino Royale or Never Say Never Again
A very UNDERRATED Bond film IMO. Easily in my top 5 favs. Dude never even had acting lessons - he was an Australian model (que the Smeg jokes here).
Agreed...closest to the original Fleming novels. very few gadgets..heavy on plot and actual acting...imo
Not to mention the ending that was very moving and actually wasnt happy for once. Very cool twist IMO, too bad others didnt see it that way. If that movie were to be released today, it may have a different effect. But then of course you are talking about 18 year olds who want to see XXX - Fast And The Furious type crap - so maybe it would bomb. I really didnt like Die Another Day that much. Way too far fetched for my tastes.... Not enough plot.
Who would have thought that Bond would marry? The worlds most perpetual bachelor, marry? I actually dont think it would do that well today...too many people have too many pre-conceived notions of what Bond is supposed to be.. If you could get people to realize that it isnt your "normal" Bond flick, then maybe... I havent seen Die Another Day yet...I need to, if for no other reason than to check out Halle...I heard she was good.. I know I'm in the minority, but I love Bond movies.... If I had to rate the actors... Connery( Connery is the man!) Lazenby Moore Brosnan and that other guy....
No joke...based on the books, if I'm casting for a Bond today, as he was originally, there is no doubt who I choose: Clive Owen.
I'm going to the video store today to rent "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Casino Royale." This is becoming a real burr under my saddle. Thanks for the help.
Best Bond Ever: "From Russia with Love" I also enjoyed "Goldfinger" (of course) and "Live and Let Die" when i was a kid, my dad and i had a tradition for bond films...they came out during the summer, so no school for me...and dad would take the day off and we'd go see the new film the day it opened at the theater that used to be where SRO used to be on Gessner near Westheimer. good memories.
Connery Brosnan Moore Lazenby Dalton Best Bond Movie: "Goldfinger" Worst Bond Movie: "Moonraker" Never a big fan of the Moore films... He had 2-3 really good ones though: Live and Let Die - Good movie, but played out like a comic book, kinda racial too. The Man With The Golden Gun - Some decent fight scenes, and a great corkscrew car stunt, but no real intrigue or something to get excited about. And Sgt. JW Pepper did not deserve a cameo. The Spy Who Loved Me - One of the best. Moonraker - Laser guns in space?? Nuff said. For Your Eyes Only - Second best Moore film. Follows the "From Russia With Love" formula. Octopussy - Not bad. Plot pretty confusing though.... and Moore looks kinda old. View To A Kill - Moore looks like a grandfather in this one.... Tanya Roberts is terrible, Cristopher Walken plays one of his worst villian roles - not that menacing at all. Dont even get me started about the plot...
ditto! couldn't agree more! Brosnan is UNDERRATED in this series, so far. short of sean connery, no one has played 007 better.
id love to see a new bond movie thats more plot driven than special effects driven. goldeneye was great bc it actually had a great plot and believable antagonists. steven spielburg would be great to see direct a bond they definitely need a new creative direction although i love brosnan as bond
