Looking to go this year since the festivities will be local. Has anyone ever been and know the best days/times to go? What are the best All-Star weekend festivities for a baller with a budget?

When they had Jam Session in 2006 it was open for more hours than it is this time around. Saturday is the busiest day by far but it's the best day in terms of how many players will be there.

The All Star practice takes place there on Saturday Feb 16 in the morning - tix go on sale through houstontoyotacenter.com this wednesday and cost $50 + fees. General admission by section but only a few thousands seats (bleachers) in the convention center court area so they sell out quick. Included in that price is admission to Jam Session afterwards, which would cost $30 on its own.

Another good event if you're on a budget is either the celebrity game (which takes place at Jam Session on Friday Feb 17 at 6pm) or the Rising Stars game (which takes place at Toyota Center on Friday Feb 17 at 8pm). Rising Stars prices went way up from what was expected but you can get a lower level seat for under $100 (upper level is $70 i think) and is already on sale. Celeb game is $50 again but still will sell out fast.

All Star Saturday Night (dunk contest) and the All Star Game cost $800+ for each through 3rd party sites (not available through ticketmaster or houstontoyotacenter.com).

    Good luck!
    Good luck!

I went back in 2006 and had the time of my life!

It's like the Houston Auto show in a sense that they have booths to sell you stuff and events to participate in. My favorite moment of the Jam Session in 06 was the 3 point contest that the public gets to compete in. At the time, I was 14 years old and they let you do a complete three point contest just as the pros would do on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun and I wish I could go this year but I live in Austin and I work weekends while attending school.

    Do go if you can!!!
