you guys are harsh. Look at Rose's numbers last year when the backcourt was crowded and he was on a disfunctional team. They weren't that bad. He's not a complete wash up. If Sura can't make it back, I'd take Rose. I might even take him over padgett. At least I didn't start a "Shawn kemp looks fit again" thread.
Uhm can we quit with this rdiculous pressumption? JVG likes smart, high IQ bball players who maximize their potential and minimize their errors and deficiencies regardless of what team they have played on.
Knicks waive Rose, clear backcourt logjam I know we have a lot of players already and have a set roster in mind. But in my opinion getting Jalen Rose for one or two years on the cheap (like veteran's minimum) seems like a pretty good idea. At 6'8 he can play multiple positions and gives us another tough defensive presence at small forward in case someone in our frontcourt get hurts. Plus he averages 12.7 pts per game, so he can score if needed. Just an idea. What do you guys think? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15486107/ N.Y. down to 14 players after buying out 33-year-old guard/forward Mary Altaffer / AP 33-year-old Jalen Rose averaged 12.7 points in 26 games for the Knicks last season after being acquired in a February trade with the Toronto Raptors. The 33-year-old Rose averaged 12.7 points in 26 games for the Knicks last season after being acquired in a February trade with the Toronto Raptors. The 6-foot-8 guard/forward, a 12-year veteran, was scheduled to make $16.9 million this season. The move clears a logjam in the Knicks backcourt, where they have veterans Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawford. Before we got Wells, I would go for it. But now, I think this team is set and dont need many more pieces. He is still a good player, he'll go to a team like Denver or the Lakers
You mean these numbers? http://www.82games.com/0506/05NYK5D.HTM http://www.82games.com/0506/05TOR7D.HTM -2.1 with Toronto, -6.0 with NY. Making two crappy teams even worse than usual when he is on the court. These are raw unadjusted +/- numbers, but I doubt the adjusted numbers look much better.
There is a thread on this already. And anyways, why is it that we would want Rose, he is useless, IMO. He is old, and he is a cancer in most teams. He wants the ball in his hands, which is what we don't need in our team.
If we are going to pick up anybody, we should be looking at reserve bigs. Chicago just waived Luke Schenscher, a 7-1 center who could back up Deke. Scott Skiles likes him so he might be worth a closer look.
Stay away from Ex-Michigan Wolverine Fab5 CHOKERS!!!! We already have one in Juwan and are still hurting from all the damage he has done. No need to expound the problem by bringing in another historical loser. Bring him aboard and Knicks might win the championship before we ever sniff one again. Too much scrubiness to overcome for a single team even with such awesomeness of Yao and Tmac combined.
I am a HUGE RAPTORS fan and i've seen rose play. He can't play a zinch of defense...plus he still thinks he's a superstar in the league...which he never was....we already have a head case in Wells, don't need another one.
Where is that random trade thread ? I counted there are at least 4 threads re Rose, 2 in NBA dish, 2 in GARM. Must be THE missing piece.
