When he drives it's like watching an antelope trying to cross the mara mara River.

Jabari can get more shots if he can cut more (and better) and learn to be useful in a two-man game. As it is, he’s a poor cutter, a poor screener, a poor roller and a poor entry passer into the post. I believe he can learn to be good at these things, although his generally poor feel for the game probably means he’ll never be great at any of them. Of course, a decent handle would also help him get more shots, but I see that as extremely far-fetched.

He can also get more shots if the Rockets can run more plays that get him the ball in the corner. This is something that should happen, and not just for Jabari’s sake.

I made the comparison before to Lamarcus Aldridge. That's the guy I think Jabari should emulate. Maybe Rasheed Wallace too. I think he just needs to out on some more weight and get the shots he'll be in that category of good but not all time types.

Your comparison to LMA is terrible. Clueless.

Did you watch LMA play? They are not similar at all and it isn’t because of weight.

You are right. They are not similar in any respect, except maybe around the same height. Some of the better comps I’ve seen are Rashard Lewis, Aaron Gordon if the puts on some more muscle, Durant without the handles.

I think Lewis is a better comp. Obviously not skill wise (don’t shoot me), but it’s Durant as well when it comes to being able to get your shot off whenever due to your height advantage.

He needs to really improve his ball handling if he wants to go to the next level, but I still love him as he is now. Not everyone has to be an elite star or bust. Role players still exist. Yes I understand where he was drafted and it’s not ideal to be a role player at that selection, but it happens.

That said he’s still extremely young and has a lot of time to improve. I would love for him to be a 3 long term to maximize his height advantage, but he can hold his own at the 4 if need be.

I say Aldridge because both are 6'11" with good touch. More smooth than athletic (my main objections to the Rashard Lewis/Gordon comp). If Jabari could hold his position in the post he'd have the ability to do similar things to Aldridge. I think he could already do similar work from the elbow. In my opinion.

I can't really think of a comparison for Jabari, but I think he's like if Channing Frye or Steve Novak had more defense and athleticism.

That's not really a knock on Jabari because Channing Frye and Steve Novak with more defense and athleticism is a really good player still.

Good thing with Jabari is he still has a lot of upside and if the ability is in there and he works hard enough, he can develop a better handle, a better post game, more confidence to rise and shoot over smaller players, better passing...If he develops one or more of those things then I think he reaches star level vs what he looks like now which is a really good player. JMO.

He is not Rasheed or LMA. He doesn't play anything like them

He's actually a rich man's/better Channing Frye. Y'all are wild comparing him to people like Aldridge and even more crazy athletic freaks like Aaron Gordon.

Today he doesn't. But neither did LA or Sheed when they were 21.

Green is rightfully getting dragged for lack of alpha mentality but where the fk was Smith this entire series?

Man always seem content just being a role player it's fking weird for a guy who confidently thought he would b picked 1st

Jalen knew he couldn't shoot. So he didn't.

Jabari knew he couldn't dribble. So he wouldn't.

he can’t dribble so he has to rely on others to get him the ball. He shot fine, just didn't see the floor much and even when he was in got ignored a lot.

this has been basically his whole tenure here. The expectations for him vs Jalen are completely different

Reed, Jabari and Cam deserve an offensive coach who will put them in a place to succeed.
