I just dont understand why the prices are so high, why the heck are gas prices so high, when earlier when we began the war in iraq people thought bush was doing it just for the oil. I dont know much about politics please dont rip on me i am just curious

I get 30mpg in each of my cars. :)

Unfortunately, I've been driving about 4,000 miles a month for the last several months, and pay over $200 a month just for gas :(

Soon, though, I'll be moving and be able to go to work on my bicycle :)

Luckily I bought a Little SLK Mercedes Last Year and I don't have to drive my Navigator as much. Saves me 10 miles a gallon in gas!!!

I just filled up my car for $2.49/gallon (premium). Stupid Illinois gas regulations.

So let me get this straight.

I pay more for gas because a regulatory commision has made it very expensive to produce gas + I am taxed upwards of $.50 a gallon.

    Neat.

Damn the prices have gotten high. I miss when it was in the 20's.

    Behad -

Your articles make no mention of the fact that crude oil is near $40/barrel. How does that fit in to the economic equation?

In Texas, I believe it's something like 38 cents per gallon in gas taxes.

There was a gas station here in the San Diego area that was selling regular gas for $2.79. I couldn't believe it. I'd rather push my car around like Al Bundy.

I normally pay around $2.30/gal for regular so that 2.79 is way out of the norm. I guess it must just be in a location that they can charge that much or something. I don't get it.

I'm most likely getting my new car at the beginning of June and I'm thinking definitely a hybrid. I'd have no problem sacrificing style for substance but these new ones are looking good. The hybrid Civic gets 650 miles per tank and reviews say the lack of power problem is no longer an issue. Driving between Houton and Austin alot I don't want to put up with this "gas thing". What a kick in the privates.

And I guess I'd get a $2,000 tax break for clean emissions or something like that.

Yeah, I understand. They've got hybrid Ford Escapes but cmon, that's such a girly name for a car.... Escape. Ya buy a car like that and they give you a free diary to record your feelings. The least they could do is thug it out and call it Excape for us younger demograpics.
