He is and he is a great player. The problem with Knicks is that they have few GREAT names on their roster but they judt don't fit together. Amare and Melo do pretty much the same so they don't really make each other better at all.

And their problem has always been Mike D'Antoni. Firing him should be a good way to start IMO

The Knicks were supposed to be contenders, and they just barely beat the lowly Wizards.

LOL, D'Antoni has to go. And unless he can get a point guard, then they should replace Grunwald as well.

I know the other thread says Stoudemire is uninsurable (is that a word?), but is he that useless of a trading chip? Murray disapproves of this asset?

I'd take Amar'e, he lit it up last year, and with a good pg (Lowry) he'd be back in his old form.

Only problem is, they'd probably want Lowry in the deal.

d antoni needs a pg to do work, Melo really doesnt benefit from a great pg. He is the best ISO player in the game right now(kobe is getting old) so i mean thatis the best way to go, but the team isn't built right for it

    This.

I'm definitely no fan of Melo, but the Knicks failures this season aren't because of him. If he hadn't carried the Knicks last night, they would have lost to the Wizards. Their team is poorly put together and unless someone else on the Knicks is playing way above their head, the only way they win is if Melo isolates and dominates on offense. They needed all of his 33 shots last night.

Blame D'Antoni and Knicks management. Their pathetic backcourt and sorry defense is why the they are doomed. Never should have signed Chandler.

BTW, someone needs to tell Tony Douglas to STOP SHOOTING. He is terrible. I haven't compiled a list, but he's gotta be in the top-5 of worst starting PGs.
