Simple poll. I love Lowry and think he should be our starting PG for the next decade, however I can't help but think he is only getting big minutes to inflate his trade value. What do you guys think?
He's starting because the team plays best that way. If Adelman is starting Lowry over Brooks (who Adelman picked in the draft according to DD and his super sleuth abilities) then he must be the better fit for the team at this point.
He hasn't given Adelman a reason to return him to the bench. I think concerns with a Brook-Martin backcourt defense is also a big factor.
He is starting because an AB/Martin starting tandem is a red carpet to the basket for other teams. Notice when AB is on floor in the 4th its for Martin, not Lowry (for the most part).
Everybody who plays extended minutes on our team is being showcased to be traded. That's how the Rockets operate. After he was showcased for years, Hakeem Olajuwon was traded for a draft pick that landed us Boki Nachbar, who in turn was showcased in our rotation for 3 seasons.
Adelman doesn't really like to change rotations. He will stick to something if it makes him comfortable and change it if we are losing. When AB came back, we were on a winning stretch, so adelman just kept him starting.
He's starting because he plays defense. He also controls the tempo better and doesn't take away shots from Scola and Martin. And best if all, he doesn't turn over the ball no where near as much as Brooks. He's a pure point guard where Brooks is a short shooting guard.
