Damn, we really did catch a break when Jason White tore his ACL.

I don't know why it is, but every single year we really struggle against quarterbacks who can run with the football. Ronald Curry did it to us last year in Austin, and Jason White did it to us on OU's one touchdown drive last year.

Other than that, there's not a lot to find fault with. Simms had 298 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 picks... he wasn't even close to a pick outside of the hail mary. He made good decisions, looked off his primary receiver, and really seemed in control when UNC cut the lead to 10 in the fourth quarter.

The offensive line looked much, much improved... though there was a short time that they lost effectiveness, you could tell by the fourth quarter that they had absolutely worn out the UNC defense. Benson had a good game, and Selvin Young looked really good in the limited time he played.

Overall, a very good game against a quality team in a tough environment.

    Did anybody see UT-UNC?

UT has 500 guys name Young.

Terrence, Selvin, and Vincent, probably more.

You guys see Selvin? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. thirty something maybe 40 yard td run.

does anyone know whats up with B.J.???

he's been having issues with catching balls.

that's my only complaint about the game (plus the scare as the second half opened... i had visions of the second half of the UNT game in my mind)... as far as complaints go, nothing too bad at all!

Chris stayed focused and pulled it out...

550 yds total offense! hot dayum!

Be scared Houston, be very scared! I gotta get tickets to that game.

I think Tyrone Willingham is the best coach in college football. He was at Stanford. He is at Notre Dame.

You're obviously an OU hater then.....I think even most UT fans would admit Bob Stoops is the best coach in college football.

Being born in Valparasio, Ind I will say that I am pretty damn happy that Noter Dame is 3-0.

Can someone tell us how many Texas high football players, signed with the Fighting Irish in the last decade?
I can tell you it's a boat load.

Being a Buckeye, I was glad to see UM beat. Maurice Clarrett is the real deal for Ohio State. As far as best coach in clooege football I say Bobby Bowden.

Duke, you OU homer, you...if you go by record, then it is obvious that Larry Coker is the best coach. He is the only one with a career record of being undefeated at 15-0.

However, I am not going to be ridiculous enough to say that he is the best coach in college football, and shame on you, duke, for saying that about Stoops. :p

Duke, you OU homer, you...if you go by record, then it is obvious that Larry Coker is the best coach. He is the only one with a career record of being undefeated at 15-0.

The difference is that Coker took a top-5 team and won a national title. Stoops took a piece-of-crap team with relatively little talent and made it a national title team in 2 years.

Stoops and Coker are both great coaches. Stoops is more of your Rudy-type, having built a program. Coker is more of your Phil Jackson-type, having taken a great program and made it even better. The fact that he hasn't lost a game yet is crazy.

This year, Willingham and that guy at Cal are doing incredible turnarounds in programs that really don't have a lot of talent.

There is no such thing as a "best coach" because each program has unique needs and needs to find a coach that fits its personality and weaknesses. For example, Spurrier is an awesome coach, but wouldn't fit well at all at a school like Nebraska.

No, perhaps he can see what Tyrone Willingham has done with his teams of lesser talent and with unbelievably tight recruiting standards. I agree that each program has their specific needs, but in most situations, I'd take Willingham. I like Stoops, Coker, Mack, and a lot of others, but right now I think Ty is the premier coach in the country.

In terms of experienced talent, like OU had in 2000, he's had the championship caliber talent for one year. There's very, very few coaches who won the championship in their first realistic chance at it, and those who don't aren't devalued because of it.
