IPOD mini HELP!!!!!

    I have an Ipod mini a friend gave me a month ago. Its been working fine untill 2 days ago. In Itunes it keeps on saying Ipod is in recovery mode? What does that mean??

    I tried restoring it and resetting it PLENTY of times? ANY HELP OUT THERE?? PLEASE!

    do you have the sad face icon?
    if you have that, then you got to send it in for repair.

    No i dont have that , I have an exclamation point and a folder. How much do you think it will cost if I cant fix it myself?? Where should I go?
