    Damn I'm an idiot.

I have a new computer, with all my old music files on it but on a different drive and folders etc. I want to erase my ipod and start the playlists from scratch.

I sync the ipod with an empty itunes and all my old stuff is still on my ipod.

    Anyone know what to do?

    Why is this so stupid?

There should be an option that says automatically update or sync to playlist on itunes. Click that option and make sure there isn't anything in the library. This should detect that nothing is there and will delete everything.

At least that's how I accidentally was able to delete my entire playlist TWICE when I first got my ipod.

I would click on you ipod and check manage ipod manually. Delete the songs off the ipod by right click on them and clicking delete and add the songs you want by dragging and dropping.

    Connect your iPod.
    Start iTunes.
Clear ALL your songs from the library.
Go to File -> Add Folder

Optionally, you can go to the preferences and tell iTunes to always look in that folder for songs.

Aww, man, I thought I was going to show you this cool page I use a lot:

I had to "reformat" the ipod back to factory settings because I am on a new machine with a different name and so on. But I am all good now. Thanks for the help.

I bet Ireland doesn't have any problems with her Ipod.
