Disclamier: I believe I have read almost every thread so I'm assuming this one will not be duplicitous.

Let's assume that for whatever reason, talks between the Rockets and the CBA, or the Sharks, or the Chinese government, or the Shaolin Temple does not pan out. The Rockets come back and realize this deal just will not work.

Let's also assume that the Rockets do not want J. Williams and will package the pick for player and/or picks.

If the Rockets trade with, let's say the LA Clippers, and they take J. WIlliams, what happens to Yao Ming?

Ive heard speculation that China will be very unhappy unless Ming is drafted #1. Does that mean if Krause takes Ming at #2, the Chinese government will balk and not let Ming play next year?

If Krause knows this in advance, will he try to trade up to #1 just so he can satisfy China's desire that Yao Ming gets picked first.

Imagine a scenario where the Rockets trade with XYZ team that picks J. Williams, the Chinese government gets mad, and Krause gets neither Ming nor J. Williams. THere's also the possibility that Dunleavy could go back to college. So what appeared to be a definite no brainer (take the guy who's there), the Bulls could end up losing all 3 of their targets even though they're picking 2nd.

    Wouldn't that be amazing.

This could happen if China is absolutely determined that Ming has to be #1. And since China has made it clear they may not approve Ming to the NBA unless theyre is a satisfactory team in a satisfactory location, the #1 pick could end up being J Williams.

    What Does this Mean?

This means that either China is bluffing about Ming having to be picked #1 or that Krause better get his a$$ in gear and trade up if he wants Ming or Williams or maybe even Dunleavy.

It gets more and more interesting.

I for one hope this thread isn't duplicitous, nor redundant. ;)
