I'm on day 4 of the Insanity workout DVD workout series. Anyone else ever done it? It truly is a tough workout. I haven't felt this way about working out since the offseason program of high school football, which was basically boot camp. I have a love/hate relationship with doing it. Every day, I wake up sore, not wanting to do the DVD. Then, I start to do it, thinking, this sucks, but it's worth it. By time I'm done, I'm drenched in sweat, feel like dying, but I also feel great. About an hour after doing the workout, I feel on top of my game, like I could do another (even though I know I can't). Anyways, It's been great so far. I'm not really far enough in to see results, but I'm anxious to see where they are on the last day (day 63). So, I ask: Has anyone else done Insanity? If so, what type of results did you see?
I know you're looking for results specific to this program, but it's like any other physical activity. You'll see results as long as you keep doing it and don't cancel it out by overeating. You're going to lose weight and muscle gains are dependent on the new load you're putting your muscles under. i believe Insanity doesn't use external weights, so you'll have limited muscle gains.
today is day 15 for me. love it love it love it!!! definitely harder than p90x endurance-wise. I like throwing in p90X yoga here and there, it helps my muscles recover. plyo cardio circuit is my LEAST favorite (basketball drills wtfomg) , followed closely by pure cardio (really, no rest?) but at least they give you a good ass kicking. i've definitely sweat more in the last 2 weeks than as far back as I can remember.
I forgot what day I'm on. I ended up cutting my first month short and moved to my recovery week early to better coincide with a 5K run I had planned. Think I'm around day 45 or so. Love it a lot so far...so far meaning practically done I guess. Don't really see big changes physically (e.g., muscle definition), but I wasn't really expecting much to begin with. I was in decent shape to begin with, so was mostly doing this as a nice cardio workout (I was doing some running prior to starting Insanity, but was getting bored of it). I have skipped more of the ab workouts than I would have liked though, so maybe they could have been a bit more defined, but not too worried about that. I've always gotten better on the Fitness Tests though, so definitely seems to be working. Also feels great to make it through the warmups without even needing a break or anything. Less soreness is also very welcome...although it just comes back when you get to the 2nd month. Does anyone have the Deluxe package, or whatever it is called? Apparently there are 3 extra DVDs (a sports circuit, another ab routine, and an upper body weights routine IIRC) in that bundle. Wondered if they were any good. I think you can buy them separately, and while I am somewhat interested, think I might just move on to Insanity Asylum instead.
did it myself. i can say that it works. eat right and youll definitely see results. nutrition is vital to weight loss or any body transformation.
I did Insanity about 6-8 months ago and it saying it was challenging was a huge understatement. The warm up kicked my butt for the first week and evening the recovery DVDs were not easy. I thought I was going to collapse into a coma after finishing the Max Interval Circuit DVD (1 hr long) the first time around. Like everyone said before me, if you stick to the program you WILL lose weight and be in the best shape of your life.
I gave it a shot but found all the lateral movements too hard on my knees. I still do P90X regularly, combined with running. I may give it another shot, though, since my knees have been pretty good lately.
Just finished my 23th day and it feels great. I am mainly concerned with shedding the 10-15 pounds I put on studying for my license exam and I definitely see some results. But I think that also has to do with the drastic change in my diet. I went from 1-2 cans of soda each day to 0 once I started Insanity. I have also cut my meals in half, eat 4-5 small portions and replaced all the junk foods (sunflower seeds, chips, etc) with walnuts, pistachios and almonds.
I was doing this in the summer. MAN! It got me in the best shape ever. But things have been down hill since June. I'm going to get back on this tonight after my nap. Anyone want to join me?
My biggest problem has actually been hitting my recommended daily calorie intake. Not doing too much, but usually doing too little. Struggle to hit 2200-2500, and think I'm supposed to be around 3000 (especially with the longer workouts in the 2nd month). I think I'm just too used to 3 big meals, and I kind of struggle to do the 5-6 small meal thing (I usually sit at work and forget to eat one of my "snacks"). I just skimmed over the nutritional recommendations for Insanity since I already eat pretty well (cut out all the junk long ago), but it did look pretty good. Definitely agree that diet changes can really help make a huge difference.
Wow. the days where you have to do Pure Cardio AND Cardio Abs are brutal. I really am not looking forward to the longer videos in month 2.
WTF? I did Pure Cardio yesterday, and it is absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine doing another video on top of it.
