Does anyone know where I can go to get information on the Rockets current draft status? I would like to find out which picks we owe and which picks are owed to us. Thank you.

I thought that nbadraft.net did not list owed picks. Am I wrong?

James Lang....hmmmm sounds lovely but I know that we dont have a draft pick. Sounds like the perfect fit to this team, how about a draft-day trade?

Houston lost their first round pick this year to Memphis for the Francis trade.

so if Houston doesn't make it this year, no playoff and no lottery

    uh oh!!!

Looking at the "owed picks",specifically the Bryce Drew obligations,Chicago will be top 20 protected in '03 and most likely in '04 as well. That means we'll get 2 second round picks for Drew. And that means that, essentially,we traded Rashard Lewis for two second round picks!!:(

On the other hand...if we had drafted Lewis,we might not have sucked badly enough(not as many ping pong combos)last year to end up with Yao.:)

Lewis? Who is he? Drew is a stud with NO and lewis washed out of the league, getting stuck on a lottery team.

Dude, are you high or what? Please tell me that you are joking about this!! The only kind of stud that Drew can ever become is visiting the sperm bank.

And Shard Lewis is the only compelling future the Sonics have.

If the Rox had signed Shard in the off-season, we would be at least 4th in the Western Conference!!!!!!!!

Remember all the reluctance to give up Griffin for Rashard last offseason? Now most aren't happy with EG.

I remember someone in the Rockets management saying that they consider Nachbar to be their 2003 first round pick and he will be that much ahead of the game by getting to learn from the bench. Maybe he will get some PT next year.

(August 27, 1999: Rockets trade G Michael Dickerson, F Othella Harrington, G Brent Price, F Antoine Carr and a future first-round draft choice to Vancouver Grizzlies for rights to G Steve Francis. Rockets also receive F Don MacLean and a future first-round draft choice from Orlando Magic, and the Magic received F Michael Smith, G Roderick Rodes, G Lee Mayberry and F Makhtar N'Diaye from Grizzlies)

Looking back on that now,it seems almost as much of a heist as the Herschel Walker deal. The first rounder from the Magic cancels out the one we're sending to Memphis. Plus didn't the one from the Magic end up being Boki?

So it's pretty much Francis for a bunch of role players at best.:D

Only thing diffrent then the Herschel Walker deal is the Grizzles didnt get to win rings like Dallas Cowboys.

Plus one of the players that Dallas got was the pick they used to get Emitt Smith.:)
