When was the last time we had a Rocket averaging over 30 per game? I gotta be honest, I'm excited that Steve can tear it up and seems to be able to score at will! I'm excited that we're 2-2 and facing Golden State next up I'm excited that Griffin is a genuine shot-blocker and that he seems to have re-found his stroke! I'm excited that Mo Taylor is going to play the game after that! I'm excited that Ming actually made it to America, looking for him to contribute after the all-star break I'm excited that we found a defensive stopper in Hawkins and I'm excited about the prospect of teaming him up with Terence Morris on the court Who else is excited? There's plenty of other posts for you to put negative stuff in, so save it for them. Tell us what you're excited about!
I'm excited that I'll be home for xmas and will be able to see the Rockets in the Summit, errrrr Compaq Center one final time.
What a great and contrarian post! The Rockets are just a past-time and it is good to be hopeful and look at the positive. We must remind ourselves that in the two or three years prior to winning the championship the Rockets were viewed as a bunch of underachieving, yet athletic players. I'm very hopeful that Mo T will be a big help as he has a consistent inside to mid-range game that has already won the respect of Steve and Cuttino.
I am excited that Nachbar has not yet even be added. I am excited that Rice and KT are on their way back. I am excited that our defense is much better. I am excited that the powers in the west are still struggling while we get our act together.
I am happy with the way Griffin played this pasted game. Francis and Mobley both played well, we just need one more player and that player is MoT, once we get him back we can trade KT butt.
With all the negative posts, some of which I agree with, it's good to be reminded of some of the positives and just how good this team could be.
I want to see this thread have 4 pages of responses...otherwise everybody's being too bitter and pessimistic if they can't participate in a simple thread of positivity. Look at it like this: Promise is finally showing progress. And I'm excited!! You made my morning, DrNuegebauer...thanks. I'm not even reading any of the other threads for the rest of the day.
And, as of right now, I'm excited to look at the NBA stats and see Francis and Mobley in the top 10 in scoring, with Steve being #2. When's the last time we've seen that? When's the last time the Rockets were .500? I know the answer to that, but what I'm saying is we do have stuff to be happy over after what we went through with this team last year. AND Who is number 2 in both scoring AND efficiency??
I'm excited that the answer to that question is Stevie Wonderful!! I'm excited Mo-T hasen't even played a minute and we are still a 500 team! I'm excited that HAWK made the team and has even had 2 starts! I'm excited that when HAWK is in the game, our defense improves!!!
Sorry to bust up with this happy happy joy joy thread with a little reality, but we are mediocre at best. We're lucky to be 2-2 at this point. We should be 1-3, except we had the fortune of playing a NBDL team in the Nuggets...
Great thread! Nice and refreshing to see something POSTIVE here. All the negative ones bring me down. The bottom line is that the team is going to have bumps along the way but it is learning and it is young. I think Francis is starting off the year DAMN HOT and I think the rest of the Rockets will come around. We just need some patience with this team. Last night's game aginst the Sonics was a learning experience. It wont be the last either. But as long as the team keeps improving and gets healthy I think this team will do just fine. Getting everyone healthy and into the rotation and having the team gel and develop chemistry where everyone trusts everyone else and everyone knows their roles and where they will be on the court is the most important thing now. Chris
I'm happy that they have tape of how to play point guard and bust down different defensive sets... I'm happy EG busted out. I'm happy Rice saw action. I'm happy Mooch played better. I'm happy we did not quit. I'm happy TMo and MT are closer to playing I'm happy we didn't lose to the Cavs I'm happy Sacramento lost.
I am excited about no more migraines for Frances and he appears to be in All Star form. I am excited that Mobley is playing so well. I am excited that Ed-D is realizing some of his immense potential. I am excited that Yao is in training camp and will be ready to play in a few weeks (He is just practicing now, even in the games) I am excited the season has started and the Rockets could become a really good team by playoffs. I will post my concerns elsewhere.
I'm excited because I got a new second favorite player. The Hawk has replaced KT. I can't wait until clutch puts up some "Yo!! Hawk" articles.
Some random things that I am excited & thankful about also: I am excited that we have Yao here in Houston. We are very lucky to have landed Yao & he has already done wonders for the franchise. I am excited that he has a four-year contract and not a four-game contract. I am excited that we have perfect weather outside in H-town so I can go to the courts & pretend that I am half the player that Yao Ming is.
Dear Fans,Posters and Players, It is Great that we have a Professional Basketball Team here in Houston, thank you Les and thanks for the new stadium, it's going to be a sight for sore eyes! Francis and Mobley are playing at a very high level and now Griffin has moved up to join them. Very soon others like KT,MoT, Rice and Morris will be stepping up the ladder and contributing to the big push! I feel sure after all the human outcry, after last night, that our Team Leaders and Coaches will pull together to make our Team one that will be known as a true Team that plays Team Basketball! Sincerely, Yetti of the land of Oz
I'm excited that Francis is really doing well this year. I'm excited that Francis has had some improvement on the defensive end of the floor. I'm excited that for the most part Cato is having an improved season. I'm excited that EG is really a shot blocking force to be reckoned with. I'm excited that the team is at times trying to use more ball movement. I'm excited that our team defense is better. I'm excited that Cato is healthy and that gives Ming the luxury of being brought in slowly because he needs that.
