great stuff x34! i had never heard of these meetings before... i think i'll have to seriously look into it!

thanks for all the kind words all! :)

i've posted with all the major sites: hotjobs, monster, msn careers, computerjobs, etc. i get daily emails from every service, but they all seem to lead to dead ends! i'm looking for part-time/contract work now, just so that i have something to do to occupy my time! i thought living the "Peter from Office Space" life would be fantastic (you know, if you had a million $$, what would you do? -- nothing!... that was so me! but not anymore, it gets boring after a month or 2!)

I will go to some of those meetings with you guys, let me know when the next one is x34. You got to network and post your resume online. Most of the calls I get are from seeing my resume on www.computerjobs.com or http://www.texas.computerjobs.com (directly to texas jobs).

I have actually got called on several jobs recently, so the market is picking up (network administrator).

Let me know more what you do and experience and I can see if they are looking for anyone at work (programs - languages?). Like x34 said you should seriously consider working contract if you don't.

Congrats on 1000th post and good luck.

    drapg,

I know exactly how you feel, been out of a job since January myself. I was working, graduated college, the company had offered me a full-time position in October, but come December the department I was placed in closed down ... D'OH!!! :)

As you said, money is not the real issue, but its the feeling of uselessness day in and day out. I've kept busy developing sites too ... damn, too many similarities!

I'm nearly done with one of the sites ... took a good month to code up ... www.teengalaxy.net ... I know, its a girly site, but it seemed like a pretty neat idea. Going to try and market it somehow ... check out the message boards on there ... they might look similar :D Took quite a long time to get that programming done! If anyone cares, you can use the dummy rockit34/gamora account to fool around.

I've basically given up on job hunting for a while, have a few more website ideas I'd like to explore ... drapg, if you're interested, maybe we can do something together ... who knows, maybe this is the reason we're out of jobs ... :) it's a higher calling!!!!!

Ok ... enuff rambling, time to go back to work...
