I also know that people can smell insecurity like a shark to blood and that they'll absolutely take advantage of you if you let them. The flip side being that the few genuine people I meet live in a fantasy world. A lot of trans people are like this. They want everything for free, hate thatthey have to hold a job, don't understand that asking nicely to not be raped or beat up doesn't actually change anything. I'm too jaded to be an idealist, but not cut-throat enough to do what I need to if I want to make it.
