...and you're concerned with the safety of our troops, you can "adopt" a soldier or sailor to pray for at www.presidentialprayerteam.org the soldiers/sailors have to consent to being on the list to be prayed for...they ask for your email address and it spits out a name of a soldier/sailor...and it asks you to pray for that person once a day.
I think the famous quote says that God will always side with the one who has the most weapons. Those prayers seems to get answered more often than not.
I don't know what EazyE was referring to, but I'm sure MadMax was referring to the Iraqi people, not the regime. I'm not sure why you're saying one can pray for our soldiers and that negates them from wanting Iraqis to be safe/out of harm's way. Of course I realize you don't believe in God and mock those who do, but atleast use your noggin' first.
You don't have to be religious to believe in the power of prayer. If you can believe that there is a connection between all living things in the universe, then positive thought must matter. I am no fan of organized religion, but count me in on praying for our troops and the Iraqi people. Most of all, let's pray that the Iraqi leadership comes to their senses.
I wasn't mocking. I'm sorry if that's how it came across. Just as I was reading Max's post, GWB had his press conference and said "May God continue to bless America" so I'm just wondering why he and others think God is on our side and not on someone else's. If I offended, I apologize.
why are you responding this way?? no one was picking a fight here...the thread title clearly implies that not everyone will be interested. you post a snide comment...and then post another when someone calls you on it. there's a time to be graceful, rockHEAD. look into it.
FWIW, quite a while back I started a thread on a book that addresses some studies that prove the power of combined prayer and positive thoughts. Since studies had been performed, I was curious what ya'll thought about it. (Not much of a response from the board) Sorry, don't have the link.
u know when i was in elementary school, i prayed for chicago bulls to win n my firend prayed for the opposite team to win. the bulls won and next day we went to school n my friend asked our pastor in school was god on my side and not his side.... i cant remember what exactly the pastor answer but i hope somebody with deep biblical knowleadge can answer me this question again.
not so ironical when i'm praying for them, too. when i pray for saddam. pray...your prayers won't override God's will, though...sometimes the answer to prayer is a resolute, "no."
