...And Barkley would have stayed healthy... Would we be in the playoff hunt? What would our record be right now? Please dont give me some BS how we'd be worse with Pippen. ------------------ Sir Charles is DA MAN.
Oh, I don't know...Barkley and Pippen would have gotten in a few fights?? Barkley would have whipped out his gun and blasted Pippen in the kneecaps after Pippen refuses to apologize at gunpoint?? I have a few questions for you, SirCharlesFan... What would have happened if the we had lost the Revolutionary War? Would we all be speaking English instead of American?? What if Pauly Shore's parents had bothered to use a condom? What if Bugs Bunny had actually taken that left turn at Albuquerque? The answer to those three questions is the same as yours...It doesn't matter!! Pippen's gone...Barkley is gone...get over it!! Personally, I'd take a young, athletic team that is gradually improving over a 35 year old whiner any day of the week... A-Train
a 35 year old, salary cap eating whiner you mean. ------------------ johnny "red" kerr:i'm glad the bulls did'nt draft steve francis. dan roan: why!!!!! johnny red kerr:because he would forever be compared to michael jordan.
Yeah, of course we'd be in the race. I'd guess we'd be around 5th to 6th seed. But we'd go down in the first round of the playoffs. If Barkley was injured and we had kept Pippen, I think we'd still be in 5-6th seed, and be eliminated in the first round. In sum, I'm glad we got rid of him. I'm also glad we got him, and the only thing I'm unhappy about is that we traded him at the end of the summer instead of at the beginning.
Why O Why? Please don't let he 'blazers fans laugh at us. Sailor [This message has been edited by sailor (edited January 17, 2000).]
If Pippen stayed and Barkley stayed healthy there are two routes... A) The two patch up their differences and we have a good shot at the title, or... B) They continue their feud, thus completely destroying team unity. We might make the playoffs, but with Quitten bringing us down we don't go anywhere. But, here's where the bright side kicks in... After this season, we are left with a prediciment. Barkley is retired and Dream is set to retire in a year. Even with Stevie, Quitten just can't earn his keep anymore and we're a superstar short of contention for... how long is Quitten's contract? 'Nuff said. Better question: If Hakeem hadn't gotten injured, if Barkley hadn't gotten injured, if Massenburg hadn't gotten injured, if Rogers hadn't gotten injured, if we'd drafted Lewis instead of Turckan, if Maloney hadn't had an alien abduction, would we be in the playoff hunt this season? Ummmm, yeah. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
Word to A-Train. I'll take our lottery-bound bunch with potential over a team similiar to that of Utah any day. I can't wait until Malone & Stockton have to retire. That team is going to be the Bulls of the West in about 2 years. Besides Eisley and Bryon Russell, they've got no future.
driver8: horny's gone this year stockton's either this year or next b/c of his wife... (he's 38 people and still damn good) and malone. we'll get to see him host the train wreck post John. ahhhh.... rudy detractors: do you think someone like Sloan will have the love of the game to stay w/ his team in rebuild mode? A year after John retires?
I have a better question: What if a frog had wings? Would he bruise his butt every time he jumped? "What if" is a worthless, energy-wasting phrase. Who needs it. I prefer to concentrate on "what is". Clue in, Sherlock! ------------------ Just Win Baby! More Than Four Times!
Dang, you guys are rough!!!! Good thing he didn't ask something really meaningful .... like the price of bellybutton lint(?) or world peace in our lifetime(?). Man, ya'll would have really gave it to him then!!!!!
Yeah, sheezus christ, folks. I was just asking a question. I think it would have been interesting to see if Bark & Pip could have put their differences to the side and make this a quality team. ------------------ Sir Charles is DA MAN.
...we wouldn't have anyone to replace Dream at center. ...our cap space would be filled until 2002 instead of 2001.
I dont mind this question. Its a relevant question, and even Barkley himslef said that he could of played with Pippen regardless of what was said. And that it shouldn't affect how the two played together. You could say that if he stayed, that its possible that Bakley and Hakeem dont go down with injuries. Hakeem/Tmass/Roberts? Barkley/Tmass/Kenny T Pippen/Bullard/Mack? Anderson/Mobley Francis/Drew I still think that, this particular lineup is the best team in the NBA.
What if Pippin Longstockings was girl ? Would she cut it in the WNBA ? [This message has been edited by jscmedia (edited January 18, 2000).]
If Pippen had stayed (under more pleasant circumstances), and Barkley didn't get injured we would be a 2 or 3 seed in the playoffs. Coupled with Francis and Anderson - MAN that would be a team. A-Train - a bit harsh!! Surely SirCharlesFan we can play the "what if game" about the past because everyone else on the BBS plays it about the future, draft picks etc. Bugs taking at left at Albuquerque. LOL
