Obviously its the same court. Cuttino vs Kobe. Kobe beat Cuttino in his rookie year. That 'Scottie Pippen' year where we lost to the Lakers. Now.. REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD. 'Click-Clack' you here us coming!
Another conspiracy of the League to give the Lakers a lift by taking away the home court advantage of the Clippers.
i wonder if you are on the road, would you have to go to the visitors locker room? i'm sure the lakers, clippers, sparks and kings have their own locker rooms.
yeah they def have their own locker rooms what im wondering is if they going to actually change the courts back and forth.. what a pain in the ass that would be
they will be changing courts for every game. what sucks is that if the lakers go on to beat the suns (which looks to be the case at this point) they will have "homecourt" advantage the entire series. all the clippers bandwagoning fans are gonna go back to being laker bandwagoning. fans here in la are so fickle and easily swayed. its a shame though cuz i do believe the clippers this year are the better team even though the lakers have the better player in kobe. but it will be interesting because the lakers are killing the suns because the suns have no inside presence offensively and defensively with amare and thomas out and now possibly tim thomas being hurt. the clippers are a lot better on the inside and are deeper than the lakers and suns. brand should have a field day playing against odom/brown/cook and whoever is left guarding kaman is going to have their hands full too as he has developed into a pretty consistent offensive player. mobley will not stop kobe but hopefully will play kobe as good as he did 2 years ago in the playoffs. kobe still got like 34 points or so but took over 25 shots to get it. I think the clippers coach can live with that. cassell isnt as quick as nash, but is a much headier player and will be able to handle parker. livingston is a total plus for the clippers he is a third ball handler and a second playmaker who brings a lot to the table. walton wont be able to keep up with him on the perimeter, but on the other end livingston cannot stop walton on the box. the bench is all clippers with ross a pretty decent defender in his own right, maggette a former starter and 20pt thread and vlad radman who provides length and spreads the floor. the lakers counter with vujajic, cook and george as their primary bench players which isnt not bad but not nearly what the clippers have. cook can shoot but he cant put the ball on the floor like radman can and his defense is suspect. george is a decent spot up shooter and does play good defense but maggette is just too good for him. ross (actually it could be livingston) can handle vujajic. either way it should be a fun series i think the clippers can take the lakers in 6 games, but it will be a bit hard since they even though have homecourt will not have the advantage that is due to them. its a shame because they really deserve it. seeing the game tonight i wish i was at staples cheering on sam and mobes the crowd was just electric. probably wont see it like that again for them unless they move past the second round.
The Clippers will/would beat the Lakers. Clipper advantages: Brand will own Odom. Kaman will own Kwame. Sam Cassell will abuse Smush Parker. Maggette, Livingston, Ross off the bench. Can go "big" and play halfcourt. Can go "small" and run very effectively. Sam Cassell is one of the best leaders/motivators in the league. Won't let his team quit. Laker advantages: Kobe Bryant Phil Jackson Obviously those two factors are working against the Suns, but that's because the Suns can only play one way and they have NO defense in the half court. Also, they've gotten the "bounce of the ball" in all the close games. I actually really want Phoenix to advance, but I'm fine either way since this LA vs. LA matchup is shaping up to be pretty damn intriguing.
Well, isn't it pretty safe to say that Staples Center will look like that again? I mean, as long as Phoenix doesn't make a miracle comeback, one or the other of the LA teams is headed to the Western Conference Finals. Now is it just me or does that sound like crazy talk even though we know it's true?
clippers will beat the lakers (if the lakers advance). AND if the clippers go to the Western Conference Finals, then i hope they beat whichever Texas team is there and go on to win the Championship (b/c the Clippers are basically the Rockets in different uni's and i've been waiting 10 looooong years for the clips to finally do something.
yeah screw the lakers. that would wipe my indiffrence to the playoffs away and i think i now have a team to root for.
In the preseason prediction threads, I think I was the only one who said the Clippers would make the playoffs. They had no more excuses with this roster. They should beat the Lakers in 5 or 6. Nobody on the Lakers can guard Brand and hopefully he can rise to the occassion. Sam will abuse Parker and Vujacic. The Clippers have no excuse for losing this series. They have a big talent advantage and a lot to exploit. Kobe will have to dominate more if the Lakers are to have a chance. This is all assuming the Lakers close out the Suns. I think Phoenix will play their best game tonight and it goes back to LA.
heh I started rooting for the Clips after it became painfully obvious the Rockets weren't gonna make it. Gotta cheer for my boys Sam and Cat...and I have tons of respect for Brand....if someone other than Sterling owned them, they would automatically become my second favorite team. that being said, if I hadnt already been cheering for them....a series against the Lakers would have changed that. Go Clips....send the stupid LAkers home for the summer...nobody will miss them.
Yeah, it would suck if the Clippers had homecourt advantage...ever. I think that attitude allows them to become a better road team this year, and besides the clips know the drill. They just have to win the games and the bandwagoning will shift back in their favor.
Clippers are going to the WCF regardless of who they play next round. I've been pulling for them all year, and with the Rox out, they're my team in the playoffs.
Lakers in 6. They split the regular season. Advantage Kobe + PJ in the playoffs. The scary thing about the Lakers over PHX is that Kobe is barely trying. He will probably have to be a more dominant scorer against the clips. Then Kobe will go to the WCF against Dallas and drop 70 a night, they have nobody that can contain him. Can one man lead his #7 seed to the NBA finals? I say yes.
I bet Donald Sterling jacks up ticket prices to the same as Lakers tickets just for this series, if the Lakers advance...
