I've been "threatening" to upgrade my computer for some time, and I've finally done it. I didn't want to do a lot to it, because it's just old in general (PIII 450, about 3.5 years old), but I did want to get a little more use out of it.

I decided to give the PowerLeap CPU/adapter a try. For $160 I bought a 1.4 ghz Celeron (Tualatin), adapter, heatsink and fan (already assembled and ready to install). It was super easy to install and it runs great. No one is going to confuse my 1.4 ghz Celeron machine of being a brand new P4, but it's a lot better than it was.

I also put in a Cendyne CD-RW (48x12x48) that I got for $30 (after rebates), and I'm thinking about installing Windows XP now (or 2000).
