I own a dictionary. Really, I do. It's an ordinary dictionary with ordinary words written in an ordinary language. There is nothing special about my dictionary, I'm sure if you looked, you could find a dictionary just like it pretty much anywhere.

But back to the ordinary words - One of those ordinary words is "fan". Now "fan" isn't a terribly special word, its monosylabbic, its definition is straightforward and definetly un-sexy. "Fan" is defined in my dictionary as an enthusiastic follower. Rather bland, but then you see that "fan" actually comes from the word "fanatic" and "fanatic" is a dangerous, dare-I-say sexy word.

A "fanatic" is someone who has extreme enthusiasm or zeal. But extreme enthusiasm and zeal for what? For something you BELIEVE.

I Believe. I will always Believe. No matter the odds against the Rockets I will always believe because I have stood at what seemed an arm's length away from two marvelous banners that proclaimed to the world that the Rockets were NBA champions; because I'v seen a short man with an Eddie Munster haircut and weird-ass suits who happens to be in the Hall of Fame; because of 1981 and 1995 and all the other times the Rockets have stuck it to the nay-sayers and the pessimists and the media which spent much of the last two decades engaged in some perveted love parrallelogram with Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. I believe because the Rockets have given me too many reasons over the years not to.

But wait, I know some of you don't believe, and that's OK. I wish you did, but lifes too short to worry about Negative Nellies everywhere you go. Everyone's gonna be what there gonna be, I heard that in a country song. I was probably drunk at the time.

On page 438 of my dictionary, there's three words scrawled at the bottom of the page with a small line drawn to a picture of me stuck in there with superglue. Those words say "Houston Rockets Fanatic".

    Go Rockets!
    Go Playoffs!
    Believe!

    Good for you!

Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.

Can't argue with the dictionary...especially since my dictionary has "Puedlfor" (whatever in the hell that means) as a picture of him on page 438 above "fan" just like he says.

Puedlfor, Calling Calvin Murphy a "short" man is both stupid and ignorant. Murphy, at 5'9", is an average sized man, not a short one, except by basketball standards. If that's the standard you are using, fine. But if you mean that all guys that height are short in the usual sense of the word, you are dead wrong. That's tantamount to saying that somebody with a 100 I.Q. is stupid, or one who makes $50,000 is absolutely poor. No Puedlfor, they are merely average. Be careful with your words!

So, steve francis, how tall are you? A little sensitive about your own diminutive stature?

    jam**cker,
Go find out what average height of a man is! When you do your homework, you'll find it to be somewhere between 5'8 and 5'10. Yes that's right. Remember, a lot of people add a couple of inches to their legitimate height, so a lot of people who claim to be 6'0 are really only 5'10!

    Reality check-
    Hakeem Olajuwon- 6'10
    Clyde Drexler- 6'5 1/2
    Charles Barkley- 6'4 1/2
    Steve Francis- 6'1
    Damon Stoudamire- 5'8
    Cynthia Cooper- 5'8
Never mind what their stats say!

    1) Calvin Murphy is not 5'9".
    2) I was speaking relative to me, Calvin is noticeably shorter than me, so I called him short.
    3) That's a relative small part of my post. What the Hell.
