    Been a Lakers fan all of my life, cause I reside in So. Cal. When the rockets drafted Yao, I became a Rockets fan. I dont even watch the Lakers game anymore.

    My favorite player is Yao, but my favorite team is the Rockets. I have been following them since they moved to Houston.

    I've been a Rockets fan since the Hakeem's days. So I guess that makes me a ROX fan. Now that Yao has come on board, I am more of a YOF. Without him, my interest in watching the Rockets would diminiss.

    Hardcore Rockets' Fan - Anybody that takes my team to the Playoffs and a Championship, I am their fan. If fact, players that play hard, play smart, and are team first, (win or lose) I am their fan. Any player that is focused on themselves, doesn't give it all or loafs, has their own agenda, or uses the team to build their career, I am one of their severest critics. No exemptions. Just because you are cute or popular or political correct means nothing to me. Continue the "heart of a champion" tradition, that is all that matters. Right now, J.J. is my favorite player because he is "solid." :cool:

    the first NBA game I watched on tv was the 1995 final between rockets and NY. I fell in love with rockets and Dream since then.
    Yes, I am a Chinese and I like Yao so much.
    but I was hesitating when I choosed the options.
    Am I a YOF or true ROX fan?
    I don't know,I think I am both.
    This is a team where dream begins.
    I hope yao will stay here for ever.

    watched my first Rockets game back in the days when they didnt even have the Summit to play in.

    had to been early 70's I guess.

    IF you play for the Rockets...Im a fan of you..
    If you go somewhere else via trade...have a good life(Sam, BobRob, Dream)
    If you force a trade....Ill boo you unmercifully when you come to town(see Pippen)

    I've always kept an eye on SF and Cat from a distance cuz they form an exciting backcourt duo, and Hakeem is one of my favorite players of all time. However I really started following the rockets b/c of Yao (too much Azn pride, I guess). hehe.
    Nowadays though, having followed so many games, I've kinda grown into a Rockets fan. I love Steve's heart and JVG's defensive system. Even if they traded Yao, I'd still follow and root for the Rockets as my favorite team (besides the Knicks :D ).

    As a career college student, I moved to Houston in 1980 and
    attended my first Rockets game shortly thereafter. While attending UofH, I worked for the Phi Slamma Jamma Cougars and the Rockets' drafting of Dream sealed the deal.

    I am Chinese. I've been a Rockets fan my entire adult life. Can you imagine when I heard that we won the lottery and had the chance of getting a 7'6" Chinese dude who could really ball? Man, that was beyond my Dream (pun intended).

    One interesting thing here is YOF not speaking for themselves. Hehe but in fact we still have many YOFs.
    I am so happy to c so many people posted in this thread. Acturally I think I am a BSOF(someone metioned before), coz I am in a city without NBA lives. The only thing I can do is entering chatroom reading pbp.

    I'm a Rockets fan, I'm a fan of both Yao and Steve also...actually I like everyone on the team! :)


    I have no problems with YOFs also
    I'm also suprised their are SOFs in here;)

    I'm exactly like that! :D except I still root for Sam and Horry, forget about the extras like Collier, Brown, etc.
