my first game was when i was 9 years old. i asked my father who was good and he pointed at Hakeem Olajawon. I've been a Rocket's fan since then.
I am from China, thats the reason im a YOF. I like this forum so much, coz I can read what other people said about Yao. I cant clearly remember when I watched my first NBA game. That was an afternoon, I saw a game between Lakers and Celtics in CCTV(a Chinese Channel). From then I became a MagicOF and BirdOF . But Yao is special, hes from China. BTW I like ROX now. I will keep on loving it as long as Yao is there. Cheers dudes

Don't worry...it's just that most of the people who normally reply in here have been asleep. They will start responding sometime soon. But you can't change your thread title. Only the Administrators can now, but they're all asleep. Me though? Yao Ming and Steve Francis are my two favorite players in the world. But if either of them got traded, they wouldn't be any more. I would still like them, but I would find a new Rocket to cheer for above everyone else. I'm a ROF...Rockets Only Fan. Always have been, always will be.

I moved to Houston when I was only 5 months old. I remember watching the '86 Finals with my uncles when I was three. They brainwashed me into a Rockets fan at an early age.
My favorite player is Yao and hes the reason I started watching the games. Since he started playing for the Rox I started to fall in love with this team.. I loved the friendship they extend and how the players opened up to Yao and embraced him. SF3 became my second favorite player in the NBA behind Yao (replacing TMac) so now I had my 2 favorite players on the team.. Cat, MoT, Cato and JJackson also started to grow on me... I started as a YOF (well not technically because I dont believe in a player over a team BS) but he got me to start watching this team in the first place. I hope Yao and SF3 stay Rox for life because if they leave ill be crushed.. Since last year watching this team grow together, make changes, get hurt, learn a new system, doing everything togther has been amazing and I hope they get a chance together to contend for a title. J
I've been a Rockets fan for life but essentially took a break from the team after the Pippen fiasco. I became a weed-only fan. Last year I heard that the Rockets were drafting some giant Chinese guy as #1 overall. I knew that this guy was either gonna be special or fall right on his face. I've been watching religiously again ever since.
One thing I've noticed about many on this board is that they're BSOF (box score only fans). In other words, they don't even watch the game and then come into the chat room or discussion board babbling about how good - or bad - a game someone had based on nothing more than the box scores and their interpretation of the numbers instead of understanding that many times a player's worth isn't seen in the numbers.
in the beginning i thought i was a YOF, but then as time passed i felt things were changing. then yao put up 33 against the lakers and we still lost, i was really pissed off. realized i cared about the team. i mean i know all the quircks and idiosyncrasies of all current rocket players. so i guess its somewhere in between now.
I'm a TOF- Tierre only fan Seriously, the Rox have been my team ever since I moved to Houston 14 years ago. Hakeem, Clyde, Charles: they were all favorites (even though I hated Barkley while he was on the Suns). A die-hard Rockets fan, live and breathe em. I guess I've always been a fan of the underdog...the Rox have never gotten too much respect around the league. And I love all the role players/CBA players that have made an impact on this team. I was always hoping Tierre would be one of them... Back on topic, Love the ROX, couldn't care less how well Steve/Yao are doing as long as we're winning.
