No, not Dwight Howard. Not Shaq, either. I'm in Portland and it turns out the T-Wolves are staying at the same hotel I am. I went to go work out earlier and there was Kurt Rambis, getting his sweat on. Saw him again in the elevator later and wished him luck against the Blazers tonight. I said, "My Rockets thumped them earlier this season" and he said, "Yeah, we'll we're not that good, so we'll have to work harder." It was a relief to NOT hear phrases like "overachievers" or "plucky little team" in relation to the success of the Rox this year. Anyway, he was a pretty nice guy. I also saw a couple of T-Wolves in the hotel's restaurant at breakfast, but have no idea who they were -- there are only about 5 guys on that entire team I'd recognize. Saw Laimbeer and Reggie Theus, too. No pix, because I didn't have my phone with me -- flame away.
Watching the T-wolves play tonight was painful, they looked so lackadaisical on defense.. after it got over a 10 point deficit it looked like they stopped caring. If the Rockets played like that (ala Steve Francis years) i'd turn the TV off.
One of the players I saw in the restaurant was with an insanely hot woman and a small child. I'd guess he was between 6'7" and 6'10".
