By scoring 60 points in a 121-119 win over Memphis on Thursday, Kobe Bryant became the first player since Michael Jordan in April of 1987 to score 50-plus points in three straight games. Since M Jordan, beside Yao and Rockets, Kobe has always been my favourate player in NBA. But apparently, some people hates him a lot. I just wanna know how many percents of rox fans like/dislike him.
I hates him. I wouldn't cross the street to pee on him if he was on fire. I haven't hated anyone as much since Karl Malone.
I really started to have a lot of respect for Kobe's game in the playoffs last year. He hasn't done anything to disappoint me this season. He might be a punk in his personal life, but I think he's a great baller -- and not the first or last punk in the NBA.
Regardless, when he's playing like he is now (with purpose), you have to admit he's damn fun to watch. I watched the end of the Blazers game and I have to admit, he was so good you just KNEW he wasn't going to miss. It's really scary to think he can be that good. He hit insane shots, one after another, in the face of his opponents like he was in warm up or something. I just don't understand him. Why didn't he try this hard earlier? Was he really trying to keep passing to his teammates and all when they were on a 7 game losing streak? Either way, hate him or love him, he's too f***ing good when he's playing like this. I can't wait for the Rockets to beat the Lakers though, show them that teamwork his more important.
I respect his game, not his elbows, not-going-back-on-D-to-whine-to-the-refs attitude, arrogant off-court comments and on-court gestures
personally.. I used to dislike Kobe.. because of Laker fans.. rape charges etc.. but I changed my mind after the A/S game in Houston when he tried to help Tmac get the MVP for the game. There is no denying he is a great player. But basically him and LeBron switched places for me. I felt bad about how much LeBron got ragged cause he had so much weight to carry for a new player... now I could care less if people call him LeChoke.
I like Kobe, because he is a great player. He's not one of my favorite players, but I'd say top 5 or 6. I think what he is doing right now is so unbelievable, because I have never seen anything like this except for Jordan. To see someone challenging MJ, scoring records wise and not being a center or big man speaks volumes about how good he is as player. I'd like to see Kobe win a title or two before he is done, and hopefully without a legit big man. Because he would be considered the only other guard to do so. He is straight out of a nightmare for defender to guard. A player who can shoot long 3 pointers, jump shots, fadeways, and dominate in the post is unreal. He hits so many circus shots and can pile up points so fast, it's not even funny.
as a player, i dislike him. he's an amazing talent, and his current scoring streak is amazing. but he's overrated. this will be his third straight year without getting past the first round of the playoffs, but yet ppl still say he's the best player in the league. there are too many other players in this league who achieve success both individually and collectively with their teams for kobe to be number 1. his team is mediocre at best and insignificant in the playoffs. and please don't blame the supporting cast, kobe traded shaq. he WANTED to have a crappy team around him. and on this current streak, he's beating up on dismal teams and barely winning. i'd take lebron, nash or dwade over kobe any day. i dislike his personality too. he's a phony. he acts like he doesn't care about scoring a lot of points and that he's only doing it for the team, and that's complete bs. of course he wants to score for himself, and he certainly thinks he's the best basketball player of all time, but he's too afraid to be up front about it because of the way ppl might perceive him. also, i can't stand the way he talks. did anyone watch that espn.com clip where marbury interviewed him? this guy started trying to talk like he's from the streets, saying things like "brotha, i'm finna burn a hole up in this joint" lmao, he's a rich kid from italy. quit catering to the masses, and be yourself kobe.
No reason to hate him really besides may be his persona. But he's a great talent and puts on a great show for NBA fans everywhere. Why would I, a hardcore NBA fan, hate one of the greats in the game today?
As the Nike commercial: hate him or love him, for the same reason. After both Walton and Odom are injured, kobe tried to lead the young lakers team, try to lead the offense, try to be the play maker, but lakers lost 7 in a row (something like that). Then I guess Phil Jackson realized it ain't work, so he starts to let kobe do it on his own, and kobe did it: he scored four 50+ games in a row, and lakers won all of them. It's a one man offense. I don't think it's a long term strategy for any team, but i do enjoy the show kobe put up.
I hate kobe 50% because of his try to act exactly like Jordan yet denied it, his persona 50% because of those kobe annoying fans who think kobe is the greatest player in the history! I admire his basketball skills and i admit he is the best player in nba right now even better than our very own T-mac. Looked at his 50pts streak, he averaged 15FTG during the 4 games. The stupid new NBA hand check rules definitely helped him alot. But cant deny Kobe is in the zone.... he is smart guy, he knows when to pick up his i.e during the against weakest teams!
I used to dislike him because of his demeanor and off-the-court antics, but there are so many deeply flawed players in the NBA that disliking all of said players would be an exercise in futility. He's an all-time great, and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to watch him in his prime.
I really do not like him. I think he is a selfish player. I will never understand how you try to get rid of the most dominant post player, with who you won championships, just so you can try to be the man. However i do have to respect him for his last couple of games. I hate it when someone scores 40 or more points but he makes much less then 50%. but in the last games Kobe is on fire, and therefor i really respect him for those games.
To me, he's beyond hate. I'm basically treating him like Bush - i.e. whenever there's news about him, it's automatically filtered out from my mind. (I wish the portals and/or browsers can filter out RSS streams based on keywords) And whenever he talks on TV, I'd go "Aw man.. just shut the hell up!"
No, kobe didn't get rid of anyone. Shaq wanted an extension and didn't get it. Kobe said he wasn't going to play with shaq anymore and so he bolted into the free agency. Shaq's contract extensions were refused and so he asked for a trade. Kobe then resigned with the lakers. Had the lakers given shaq his contract extension, kobe would've been a clipper. I suggest you look up your history.
