Sure, those students are pansies who didn't have to work hard at all in order to get into one of the toughest schools to get into in the U.S. Sure, they're tools, and you're such a bright person for being able to see this. And you pinpointed exactly what should be done- throwing crap on their campus. Way to go, B.R.O. I'm sure you'll be exactly the type of boss the person was referring to in my signature.
This was meant to be a light-hearted thread, rez. Rice is our RIVAL, do you not understand that? How is that not similar to the Mavs/Jazz being our rivals? Snobby perfectly describes them; their fans call us a community college whenever we play each other (which is actually a really good insult), so you expect me to call them humble opponents? For someone who went to "a higher ranked school", you sure seem clueless. Oh, and talk to a Longhorn fan and ask them what names they come up with for OU and A&M. Dandorotik, your post is simply.. I don't know. If you honestly think that I had intentions of throwing feces on the campus, then... I don't know.

Look...this is a Rockets site. 99.9% of the people here love the Rockets...when a thread come up bashing the Mavs, its the whole community coming together to support our team while knocking our rivals. Much different than a random UH kid coming in and tearing up another school. Maybe you'd see it on a UH board or a Rice board, but not on a Rockets board that is filled with plenty of people that go to both schools. Also, many Rockets fans here have followed them their whole lives...I grew up with the Mavs and Jazz being our main rivals. Do UH students grow up hating Rice? Very few. Also, if the Mavs and Jazz do well, it hurts the Rockets. However, if Rice or UH gain a great professor, it has no impact on the other school. If you are strictly talking sports, then thats one thing...but coming out of the blue and calling them snobby MFers and wanting to throw feces on their campus...thats a bit random and thats why you are getting little to no support here.
I think.. I do have to agree that you're right. But you have to admit, there's been some pretty irregular topics in the Hangout haha. Feces shouldn't be too far from the norm, and it should be pretty obvious that I don't actually intend on throwing poo at them. Rice is our rival, I'm supposed to hate them in every possible aspect, and the fact that a lot of them are snobby only adds fuel. Anyways, you made a really good post, I hope there's no ill-will.
What's really funny is we Owls typically don't see you Coug's as rivals. Feel free to hate on us, but we're usually the first ones to cheer your team on.
Nah, no ill-will. I just dont really understand the issue of hating a rival school...the sports teams my college went up against were Johns Hopkins, U. of Chicago, Emory University, etc...basically, schools that are less competitive in sports than your average junior high school. So I never developed that characteristic. Although, I would imagine that since UH dominated Rice in football and has won this season in basketball...that the hatred should tone down since there really isnt much of a competition right now. Anyways, only reason I say anything is because there are people here (who are normal) who went/go to Rice. Although, I must admit that the women of Rice are terrible to look at.
I'd say UH is our main rival, but it's more of a "if we only win 1 game this year, I want it to be the one against UH" kind of rivalry and not really a all-encompassing-hatred kind of thing. We don't sit around making "Coog jokes" and even on the main Rice sports board, UH rarely gets mentioned outside of typical sports-talk (ie I'd be surprised to see a thread like this posted on it).
Bmoney, that was soooo 30 minutes ago You Rice kids make it harder for me to hate on y'all haha. I guess it was just that one group of kids yelling Cougar High at the football game that got me going. To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed that Rice only sees us as temporal rivals, I mean, I understand that you guys have the best academics in Texas, but I would love for it to blow into a ATM/UT kinda thing in the not-too-distant future
I go to the worst athletic school in the big 12, so the only team we all join together to hate is our own team. It works out well for us, we have no die hard fans because our teams are never competitive. This is a new experience for me considering the rivals I have grown to hate with the Rockets and whatnot.
Rice people in this thread, are you current undergrads? If so, which colleges? I didn't know there were Clutchfans at Rice...

Your original post didn't say anything about you being a UH student. You sounded like some random crazy dude who all of a sudden had a melt down as you were driving past Rice University. And by the way, don't be mad at Rice, be mad at the Longhorns. The Longhorns are the ones that destroyed the Southwest Conference, sending both Rice and UH to the minor leagues of college sports. I support both Rice and UH.
