watching Gary Payton pass it out to Rashard Lewis for threes during the Seattle - Utah game knowing that it should be Steve Francis doing the passing to Rashard for the next umpteen years. Hindsight can drive you crazy, but MIRCSAD TURCSAN?!?!?!? Give me a break. Just thought I'd share that. BTW, Rashard is not coming here this summer IMO. ------------------
At least we got a pick for him. Drew? ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
Oakdogg, Turkan had one of the most spectacular pre-draft shootarounds the Rockets had ever seen. He is a shooter with professional experience. Not taking Rashard Lewis may have been the best thing for him. He went from prince to pauper after that and I bet it motivated the hell out of him. But back to your beef with the draft: he misses Houston (and his momma) so bad I bet he'll sign if we make a fair offer, so loddie freakin' dah! ------------------ Wanna play in the clutchcity.net game? That's true pass1st, that he had a great shootaround... but ANYBODY can have a good day. From what I understand, he wasn't even that special of a player in *freakin* Europe! How can you THINK such a guy will succeed in the NBA? About Rashard, the thing is we *can't* make a fair offer-he's a restricted free agent, and Seattle can match whatever we want to give him. ------------------ [This message has been edited by haven (edited May 07, 2000).]
pass1st: Well, Turk is suckin' it up so bad in the NBA now the Rockets wouldn't even pick him up when he got cut for free. Meanwhile, Lewis is lookin' as good as I would hope our lottery pick could be, so loddie freakin' dah! Still, Lewis is making a lot of teams look bad considering he was picked in the thirties that year well after Turk. Also, if you didn't know, Seattle can match ANY offer the Rockets can give Lewis, fair, extravagant, whatever, and the Sonics keep him. ------------------ [This message has been edited by oakdogg (edited May 07, 2000).]
AT THE TIME OF THE DRAFT Turksan looked better. Hindsight is 20/20 Oakdogg. THAT is what I was saying. Seriously, when Turksan got minutes in New York, he was averaging 10 points per game and 4-5 rebounds on around 17 minutes off of the bench. He got hurt, waived and has never been the same since he's joined the Bucks. So loddie freakin dah because I can't blame the scouts for selecting Turksan, since he was supposed to play in Europe anyway for the first year. All of what I said is true (or a slight bit off) and you can check it out for yourself. ------------------ Wanna play in the clutchcity.net game? Got some ideas? Pass 1st, You're not telling me anything I didn't already know though I appreciate the info anyway. Hindsight is 20/20, so it is a waste of time whining over the end result of the draft, but after watching him look so great against the Jazz, I just couldn't help myself (I'm sure I'm not the only one). The thing that still bugs me about Turcsan is if the Rockets were so high on him at the draft and he produced in limited action with the Knicks as you have said, why wouldn't the Rockets pick him back up after the Knicks waived him? Surely a top flight player like Turcsan could bump Gray off the bench. ------------------
Oakdogg, Look at when Grey was signed and when Turcsan was signed. I think that should answer your question. ------------------ Wanna play in the clutchcity.net game? Got some ideas? E-mail me at philip_w_moore_jr@hotmail.com and I'll send a batch e-mail with details as they develop.
He was averaging 10pts 4rebs in who's dreams? Yours, Van Gundy, his, or Rudy and CD's? In practice? when? how many mins did he get 100? Umm I know hindsight is 20/20 but ummmm maybe u should like research the [stuff you say] b4 you say it cuz mirsad's career high is 6 so I dont know what Greg ****a he had to score to average 10 when his career high was only 6.... Maybe he did so well in the shootaround b4 the game the refs felt sorry 4 him that the shots didnt count so they told the score keeper to give fo when the game started????The most the guy has played is 12 mins. So yes hindsight is 20/20 but please don't try pass your [opinion] in this day and age when all it takes is a visit 2 NBA.com or an almanac to check the stats. Like I said earlier though....... At least we got a pick for Turcan.....Drew however Admin note: Be nice, Scarface. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day [This message has been edited by Administrator (edited May 10, 2000).]
Pass 1st, Huh? What, just 'cuz we've signed the unimpressive Grey for chump change for the rest of the season, we can't sign this sharpshooter we were so dang high just over a year earlier for next to nothing? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. ------------------ [This message has been edited by oakdogg (edited May 10, 2000).]
Scarface, I went to NBA.com and looked up Turcsan's numbers-and you're right that I was misttaken about his career high. But watch your language when you address people. Oakdogg, Turcsan was waived by the Knicks on 2/9 and signed by the Bucks on 2/17. Devin Gray was signed for the rest of the season on 1/17. So it was timing. ------------------ Wanna play in the clutchcity.net game? Got some ideas? E-mail me at philip_w_moore_jr@hotmail.com and I'll send a batch e-mail with details as they develop.
His name is not Turcsan. There is no S in his name. It is: T U R K C A N. Why does everyone continually mispell his name? ------------------
It is not spelled "mispelled". That word needs Turkscan's extra "S". Why do people keep misspelling "misspell"?
People will learn to sspell his name when he can make a team, and make a name for himself around the league. Until then, he's just some idiot with a hard name to sspell. Maybe people are just placing the "S" from Mirsad, into his last name, Turkcan. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
I hate to step into the middle of such a heated arguement but can anyone tell me what we received for MT when we traded his rights. If I remember correctly that is what happened(Trade). On another note, I love visiting this sight and it has become something to look forward to on a daily basis, and yes I do have a life. But it is a little disappointing when posters become so disrespectful to eachother. BAsketball is just a game and the only reason we come here is to discuss the game and our beloved Rockets. Stats are stats and opinions are opinions and who cares if sometimes they get interchanged. Enjoy the site and be nice to eachother and perhaps we will all be better for the experience. ------------------
My reliable Seattle Source told me if the Rockets would of picked Lewis instead of the Turkey, Seatlle would have chosen Mobley with their next pick. My not so reliable Vancouver source told me if the Rockets would have selected Rashard Lewis that they would have had the Rockets include Lewis in the deal instead of Brent Price. ------------------
Nolan and P1S2 sorry if I ofended you guys, but I had just watched Scarface for the 100th time and I was pissed that he never saw that guy behind him. Well as far as Tucan sam, I'm not dissapointed in him at all, at least we got clutch to call him the evil doogie howsier when we drafted him which was right on the money. Drew is what frustrates me more when we had Brent, Baloney, and I believe we still had Email. Plus how we handled the whole Lewis thing was a joke. Most people here knew it was a mistake when we passed on Rashard, however on the other side of that coin is the fact that Nobody knew what to expect from this Cat character who we kept hearing was eatin people up in Philly. Once again sorry if I came off a lil rude to a fellow Rockets fan. Now if you think that was rude you should see how I treat Californians. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
Scarface- chill out. That was completely unnecessary. You actually had a good point and ruined it with your profane tirade. Treat your fellow posters better.
Point well-taken. Actually, I started wondering about that word as soon as I hit Submit. However, I think it is a different issue. Misspelling is misspelling and it is sometimes annoying. But consistently misspelling (or mispronouncing) someone's name is disrespectful and inconsiderate. Is it really so difficult to learn someone's name before discussing him? Some people went to nba.com to look at his stats before posting so I know they saw the proper spelling. Why won't they use it? ------------------
