Like some of you know I’m a biology student. And since I’m almost done with my study i started applying for a job. The first Job I Applied for was a PHD position with my department at my university ( entomology(insects)). And I got the Job. I'm so happy. I cannot tell to much about the research, but it is a very new research on a subject that is both useful and unique. It is really ideal for me since it is a very interesting research. I'm really looking forward to starting with it. My girl also got a job with entomology, so we can stay in the city we already life in, and we can start looking to buy a house here . Now I only have to finish this internship I have been working on, and then when I graduate there is a job waiting for me.
Congrats. How is the jobs market in the Netherlands? Do most people your age have the jobs they want?
It is pretty good. However for a biology student it is a bit harder. It is not normal to already have a job before you finish the university. Most people get a job within 6 months (but biology student might have to take a job they do not find ideal).
Your first job as bug doctor is the complete eradication of mosquitos from the Texas Gulf Coast region...
Yeah, my wife started getting on me about the lawn today. I'm tellin' ya, it's one thing after another. She's an ... entomologist - you know, bees, flies, gnats.
Man, good news. Just be careful you and your gal don't lapse into "work" talk at cocktail parties... you might scare some of the others.
