No, polls suck...sometimes people reply and don't vote, vote and don't reply.

I seemed to get quite a few replies to mine, thank you very much.

Vote and don't reply is fine (it's just a damn poll).

For reply and no vote they can go to your thread. To vote they can come here. :)

"Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains. "

Actually, this (and numerous variations of it) is a very popular quote on conservative websites and, oddly enough, there is no record of Winston Churchill ever saying it.

This is from the Churchill Centre's website: There is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this. Paul Addison of Edinburgh University makes this comment: "Surely Churchill can't have used the words attributed to him. He'd been a Conservative at 15 and a Liberal at 35! and would he have talked so disrespectfully of Clemmie, who is generally thought to have been a lifelong Liberal."(Clemmie was Churchill's wife, Clementine).

I just go with whatever seems right to me. Some things I lean to the left on, other things I lean to the right on, and in other ways I am in the middle. If I had to choose, I probably lean conservative, but I think the middle works for me.

However, the lines between them all are becoming further blurred by the day. Besides the 3rd parties, there aren't that many differences between Republicans and Democrats because they end up compromising to each other on so much.

You should have forced us all to make a choice:

    Conservative
    Moderate Conservative
    Moderate Liberal
    Liberal

Now you're going to get 80% Moderates. :)

How does that saying go :

    "I'd like to be a Democrat, but I like to keep my money;
But I can't be a Republican, because I like to spend it on drugs and whores"

I am a liberal, but I am not completely consistent in that regard.

I am whatever the opposite of that is.

We don't need to spend money on defeating the Taliban, homeland security, getting the economy on track. Its easy to run a surplus when you gut our military and national defense. What do we need those for, the world is a peaceful place. Didn't the Democrats have plans to spend the surplus also? Everyone seems to forget they wanted to spend it, just in a different way.

Its in the interest of our national security to not release the details of what may have really happened.

The current administration is in a no-win situation. If they had helped ENE, what would we be saying? They did the right thing, letting a failing business fail. All of us were fooled by Lay. Its not like they invested tons of money in a realestate deal that went bad, got bailed out, and made the original investers rich. ;)

Prolife is my choice. Why can't I have the right to not kill my would be kid?

Yea, it would have been much better if we had invaded Japan by land. That's a winning idea.

What kind of auto do you drive? Why don't you have one of those alternate fuel cars or a bike. How do you justify driving and flying and heating your home, but hate the oil companies? Maybe we could fall back onto the previous energy policy....oh wait...Clinton didn't have a policy. That's another winning idea. Lets make the largest economy in the world but fail to plan for an energy policy. It was just a small detail.

Yea Texas does suck. I hate not paying income tax, plenty of wide open land, Tex-mex, BBQ, low cost of living, and playing golf all year round. Love it or leave it.

We should get rid of that right to bear arms. Let's chop off a few more while we are at it. You most likely want to rid the ban on Congress to make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Then we could get rid of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects. With no religion and no secrecy, the dictator..er...president could do whatever is best for "national security". Why didn't I think of that?

If you've never lived in Gainesville, you don't know Florida.

You certainly have the right to believe whatever you like. Ah, America, what a great country.

treeman, I saw you listed as a "Moderate or Liberitarian" in that other thread. Everything I've ever heard you say on this BBS sounds hardcore conservative to me, but I guess you never discuss domestic issues. Since that thread doesn't list them seperately, are you Liberitarian, liberitarian or moderate?

I am a young 18 year old kid from NorthWest Houston. I listen to Rage Against the Machine. oh and um U2, and um, welp, I can't recall who has Politcal issues.

Us youngsters are kind of funny. I think we try to be different. I think we try too damn hard to be different by defying authority and the gov't and all that crap. And they/we (or is it they?) tag anarchy signs around like it's cool to do that.

Just because they dont rewind the Blockbuster tape, they think they are anarchist or something?

In my Gov class, we took a test to see what you fall under. I fell under moderatly conservative.
I am pro choice though, although to a certain extent though.
