willfully and purposely breaching the verbal contract involving the terms and conditions of the "bet." But rest assured this is a one-time inflection.

I will continue to honor such a commitment, and actually look forward to a break. I enjoy the fact I have "annoyed" some of you with my words, and if it makes you feel better, some have come close to annoying me as well...

BTW Chambliss has won... Anyway...I think I particulary enjoy reaction. It is amusing when it misses the mark. Some posters on the opposition are more likely to miss than hit. However, I think I enjoy the reaction of those that can hit the mark and get what I'm saying. Certain posters like Deckard seems to somehow know when I'm serious and when I'm not, or when I'm sincere or not...

I think I have found it frustrating that more posters don't seem to have this ability till I realize that is a near impossible trait to have.

What I want to say is that it is very difficult to know someone behind a computer. Rockets2K even thought I was great till I beat his arse in basketball a few years ago.

I am hopeful on Obama. As I have stated before to Mulder, I think he is capable of being great. McCain never was. He seems to be off to good signs. Keeping Gates was key to making me feel more comfortable. He stated he wants to gather all Governors and listen to them all about helping the economy. (regardless of poltical ideology) - that is a good sign. and if he proves to be not an enemy of the 2nd admendment, I will seriously consider my vote. You guys know I have stated I believe there is Presidents who can be great on both sides. - my entitled opinion. (Truman, Reagan, FDR)

By now, you know my story, I obviously lean right (especially gun rights, and defense), but I am accepting of liberal social programs that help people. I think that is why I have admired Truman as much as I do.

I want Obama to succeed. I want him to get the credit of an improved economy because I care about my children's future first and foremost. If I was single, I'd live SHTF style, but when you have kids, you could care less about political points...To hell with it. This is a worldwide economic problem we are in. I could lose my job, my wife has a very good job she could lose...You could very well lose your job. It's scary. Forget the political points for a sec...For this reason, I am wishing Obama success absolutely.

Happy holidays everyone. Be safe. Take care of your family first. We'll go at it again, but more time with the family is alright with me.

I don't know if it's off-topic or not, but along the lines of listening to governors...

I think there should be a meeting in Washington, every so often, of all the governors in the States and the president. I should be an open ended discussion concerning new programs that certain states and regions are implementing and such things like that.

It should also be aired on CSPAN or another network such as that.

I think you annoyed me in a random post, but it's not personal or lasting with me in here. You certainly can get reactions.

I also want to wish you a happy and peaceful remainder of the year, and to enjoy it with friends and family. With all the uncertainty, what better opportunity to recognize the blessings we already have.

Nothing like a fiery blast when all the top leaders of the country are in one big room.

    Welsher.

    J/K, Roxran.

I really didn't want anybody to take the bet but George and asso. And the first went poof so fast he honored the bet he was too scaredy cat to take. The second doesn't even know he lost.

As far as I'm concerned you should just go ahead and post whenever you like. And I'm glad you're giving Obama a chance.

... Welcome to the ignore list ...

For being a complete idiot and (threatening) to waste the admins time.
Proof you can't be taken serious for anything you say.

So my 70-something year old father...who voted for McCain, and hasn't voted Democrat in my lifetime...is watching the UT/A&M game with me last week. We had some debates leading into the election on all sorts of topics...he was always clear that he thought Obama was a man of great character...but was concerned he wouldn't be tough enough with Al Qaeda. He had a view that Obama would roll over...and that was important to him.

We're sitting on the couch..the game is out of control...and he says: "Well, I have something to tell you. I don't think Obama is going to be a good president...I think he's going to be a great president."

Wow. After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I asked him why. He said he was encouraged by the people he was surrounding himself with. And that he had heard Obama speak directly to the need for action in Afghanistan and Pakistan with regard to Al Qaeda. He said again that he thought the man had integrity and was generally "a good man." But that these other things convinced him he could be great. And he said he had the ability to unite people of different races in this country, which he found encouraging.

Holy. Crap. Yay, Dad, for being open-minded enough at 70-something to even consider this!

I hope people will be patient with him because he is being handed a mess of historical proportions and he's not going to fix it overnight.

It certainly didn't sound like one. It sounded more like: "it wouldn't be a good idea to put too many leaders in the same room at the same time."

I'll believe you when he says it. I think you misread it.
