Thank God there's at least a few smart people out there. Personally, I'm going with a baseball bat to fend them off, you don't want to be in an out of ammo situation when surrounded by zombies.
My father just called me and gave me a good tip: If water goes out, youll have no way to flush. So he recommended topping off our bathtub while we still have water and keeping a bucket handy to use for flushing water. Genius.
I have added orange juice and Madden '09 to my list of supplies. *arkoe has a small arsenal in case of zombies, including but not limited to shotguns and baseball bats. However, he fails to see what hurricane preparedness had to do with zombie preparedness. Hurricanes you have some forewarning. With zombies, you've got none.
Why do that when you can just fill up a lot of bottles and jugs of tap water. I posted this in the storm riders thread but will post this again here as it sounds like good advice. I heard from some people in NOLA that they keep a hatchet in the attic in case it floods they can hack their way out to the roof. It might make sense to do that and keep some water, rations, flares and other stuff up there if you live in a flood prone area.
