    Fully charge up everything that needs charging, especially cell phones. Charge up their extra batteries as well. If you have important stuff on your computer (e.g. phone numbers), print them out in case your power goes out and you need to contact folks.

    Fill the tubs with water. Not to drink, but it will help flush the toilets.

    if you are in an area where you think your water might be cut off fill all the sinks and bathtubs for freshwater. (keep some what clean)

    That reminds me, whisky is the safe bet. If you don't have power after a day or two you're stuck w/ room temperature beer. You can always drink whisky neat.

    I just arrived from HEB to do this - all the water was gone (HEB at Fountain View and Westheimer) - except for the expensive-ass Fiji water.

    I spent a fortune on it.

    Also, lower the temp settings on your fridge and freezer. Put food you want to use first in a cooler with ice, so you don't have to open your fridge.

    Yeah, and expect the awesomness of exploded beers when your fridge gets too cold and freezes them.

    You need to read my post closer. I said to put the items you plan to use first in a separate cooler, so you don't have to open your fridge. ;)
