The awesome guys at Humble Bundle have really outdone themselves this time. Bastion Limbo Amnesia: The Dark Descent Psychonauts LIMBO Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP Plus all the soundtracks in MP3 and FLAC format. Everything except for Bastion is pay as much as you want, if you pay more than $1 you get steam keys, but everything else is DRM free, and as always, you can even redirect your entire purchase to the awesome Child's Play charity. I am not kidding when I say that Psychonauts and Bastion are two of the greatest gaming experiences I have ever had. Amnesia is so incredibly stressful that I still haven't gotten past the first few sequences. And LIMBO pretty much speaks for itself with all the awards it's gotten. And I can personally vouch for the soundtrack of Bastion to be one of the best I've ever heard. "Build That Wall" is so good, it gets mixed in with the regular music I listen to. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/t8cELTdtw6U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Without fail, I've posted every Humble Bundle to the Hangout because I truly support the concept, and there's usually at least one great game there, even if it's not your typical AAA title from EA or Activision. But this one truly I will be sad to see die a slow death to the second page. This bundle is everything that is great about indie games, literally for less than the cost of lunch. For every person who's b****ing about Diablo III being disappointing, or how Blizzard's always-online DRM sucks, put your money and time where your mouth is. Support these games, not just because they're independent, but because Bastion and Psychonauts are just flat-out better games than ME3 or Diablo3, or MW3, or BF3. They're original, they're charming, and they're unique experiences you won't find ANYWHERE else. http://www.humblebundle.com/ Do it. Play the games. Then come back here and repost in the thread. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I heard Amnesia: Dark Descent is an underwear stain waiting to happen. Watching the Let's Play and reaction videos online is particularly amusing.
Definitely agree, these are some great games (easily the best Humble Bundle thus far). Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I think I already own all of these already. Although I've yet to play/finish most of them...damn backlog.
That's a damn good bundle, but man...by the time these come together I either own or have played most of the good ones.
It hast to be a legitimate concern for indie developers; while these bundles have been wildly successful, you do wonder if gamers will start holding back on purchases with the expectation that they will eventually be released in a bundle. The thought definitely came into my mind when I was buying Bastion last year during the holidays. Especially with games that have tons of DLC, I'm more and more shifting my purchases by a year or more, with the expectation that I will have a much more complete game, for a much lower price, and almost always waiting for the 75%-off steam sale before I buy anything nowadays. Happy to buy, even though I own all of them already; I've been bugging my friends to play Bastion, and now I have a copy I can send them to try. This must be what being a Jehovah's Witness must feel like; spreading the good word of awesome indie games...
Little bit slow on this update, but they just added Super Meat Boy, Braid and Lone Survivor to anyone who already bought the Bundle, or if you beat the average (currently around $8.25). I have no idea where they go from here; they've thrown everything but the kitchen sink into this one. Super happy for all the developers and Child's Play; $4M in a week! http://www.humblebundle.com/ <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zwANFc7D1ac" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Just found out about this. It's awesome. Already own some of them, but donated. Wanted to try Amnesia.
