[Human Trafficking] The Girl Who Got Away <- can a MOD please make this the title of the thread? I forgot to add the latter part. http://causes.msn.com/human_trafficking/?section=article_6_1#section=article_6_1 I'm just raising awareness, here. I noticed some celebrities are also doing this. The story sort of hit home. I have two daughters and would not want to see this happening to any of you, my ClutchFans brothers, even if I didn't have kids.
Evan should be praised for his awareness, and his quick-thinking in a pretty messed up situation. He's a really good friend who obviously cares about her. Good for him, and good for her for having the open-mindedness to actually LISTEN to her parents and the Congresswoman. 18 year old girls are still young enough to think that the perfect guy is just waiting to sweep her off her feet, and predators can easily take advantage of that.
Well, they're not going to try to recruit some girl that isn't attractive to get them money, man. Come on, now. Go look up the video where she's in. Perhaps you might fall in love! She's a lot older now, you perv.
Indie Film based on this same subject: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/DF_ks12_sTQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Survivor of Sex Trafficking Chong Kim: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gFTY1SJyMbA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Isn't Houston like the number 1 city in the country for human trafficking? Crazy how all of this is going on in our own city.
The fact that a vast network of human trafficking exists in our country keeps me up at night. Horrible crap.... I wish the government would turn the resources they expend on the Drug War on this instead.
You can't stop someone from being naive and really, not being able to trust other people like they should.
Human Trafficking is probably the worst problem in the world with the least attention. Its horrific what some of these girls go through. Here's just a few of the organizations that the network I work for donates to. They are all great organizations that do incredible work - either by prevention or through actually helping the victims. Christine Caine - A21 project - they do a lot of wonderful work with victims, campaigning to change laws in Europe, investigating and bringing down suspected traffickers etc. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/stxmmQqKL0E?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Phillip Cameron - Runs Stellas House and now an orphanage in Moldova. More girls are trafficked from Moldova than any other European Country - due to its huge poverty issues. Many are orphans. His goal is to keep the girls away from traffickers by educating them and giving them life skills. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BPjbrlcgKD4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
POWERFUL STUFF, DFWRocket! Thank you for sharing, sir. mylilpony, as long as the foundations to growing up responsibly and with good morals, respect, values, etc., our daughters won't stray, man.
^^yes^^ Also, studies show that the better relationship a girl has with her father, the more likely she is to delay losing her virginity until she is older. She'll also be more responsible and more honest with her parents.
By better you mean protect her from boys, because boys are evil and horny? You wanna know the most important thing in a girl's life??? It's family?? a strong family bond will build a healthy relationship and I'm not talking just mom and dad/brothers/sisters family/ all the family with all the cousins/uncles/aunts/nieces... Family strong like The Godfather or The Sopranos, oh wait am I doing it right???
