I wonder how many of these barnes and noble really has. There is already 2000+ likes for facebook, which probably means they've sold 10,000+ already since many people don't "like" it on facebook and many place multiple orders. I hope our orders don't get cancelled.
Well, I abstained from buying tablets because I thought they were overpriced for what I would use them for, but at $99, they became damn reasonably-priced. lol. Well, I paid $101 + tax from B&N. We'll see if I get one ... I'll just use this for surfing the Web and maybe the Kindle app. Is there any advantage with 32 gigs other than for loading up movies and mp3's or maybe heavier multi-tasking? Slickdeals' thread has over 9 million views and has been split at least 3 times on this deal. That's unreal.
That's what I really find interesting about this whole thing (well, other than the sudden end of HP PCs and mobile devices); the fact that a lot of the people who have said "I don't see the point of a tablet/I don't need a tablet" etc etc. will likely find themselves owning one. 100 bucks is too cheap to pass up. And really, most people will not be able to find out how they would use a tablet until they actually own one, and now they're going to get their chance. At that price it's worth the experiment, and I'm betting people will find themselves more comfortable with a little media device like this around the house than they would have expected.
I don't see any other advantages. You'll also get a free 50 gig cloud storage from box.net so I don't really see the need in getting a 32 gig, not for me at least.
Aside from that, you'll also have more space to play around with when Android gets ported (like dual-booting). I got the 16gb since I just wanted a cheap, streaming device and ereader since my phone does all the heavy work.
My order status at B&N says 'in process'.... For those of you who got canceled, what time did you place your order?
I ordered 4 on Barnes and Noble. They only fulfilled the shipment for 1, and the rest were cancelled. Got an email.
