I know a lot of you guys think that D12 is a Center but I really think his best position is PF. That's the position he played most of his career at and to me just makes since because of how great he is at rebounding and his defense. I mean the guy is only 6' 9" w/o shoes which prototypical PF size and as a Center he is undersized. I really believe that him and Asik playing together could work... What do you all think?

He is a center, protecting the rim. He plays bigger than he is. Case closed.

Even if you place him in the Power Forward slot, pairing him up with Asik does nothing for the spacing issue. We want to run 1 in 4 out, surrounding Dwight with shooters so that he can do his thing down in the post. Asik would clog it up and guarantee a 2nd defender on him because neither of the two have range. He's more comfortable in the PF/C role of the likes of Olajuwon, Duncan and Garnett rather than a stretch 4. Asik is a capable back up ensuring that we have top defense 48 minutes of the time. We can run experimental twin tower line ups, or to defend against the only traditional team that still utilizes it. (Memphis)

As it is, our best bet is Dwight at center. He took Orlando to the finals with it, so I say it's a winning formula.

Any time you start something saying, "I know everybody thinks", be prepared to get called stupid. And yes this post was very stupid.

People fall in love with height and want to regulate it to a certain position. Its all about a players skill set than it is how tall they are. Wade is no where near 6'5 , Hakeem is not a 7 footer, barkely was only 6'4 , Iverson 5'10. It is these players skills set that allowed them to dominate at their positions not their prototypical height to a certain position.

People need to stop saying "He's only X height without shoes" about players. NBA list heights are based off of each player's height in shoes.

Also, Dwight doesn't have the skillset expected of a PF in today's game. He has no jumper whatsoever and his perimeter defense isn't that great.

Fuq it. try it out in camp, pre season. If we keep asik, there will be times where we'll want both of them on the floor for defense ie. playing memphis. It would be nice if the offense wouldnt be a steaming pile of garbage when this happens. Find a way to make this work for 10-15 minutes a game and we are much closer to the finals.

Dwight is a center. Especially in the Rockets offense.

Not even a question, center just like Hakeem...without the beautiful footwork and soft touch. Hakeem would have been a better power forward and there was never a question the he was only a center.

Maybe 20 years ago it was possible. Now, no way, the game has changed.
