I can hear it now.... Gene Peterson: "Miss! Ming with the rebound. Looks downcourt. Loooong pass to Nachbar. Drives to the hole. SLAAAM DUUUNK!" How long until Francis stops standing next to Ming under the basket calling for the ball and starts taking off down the court? After he watches enough uncontested Nachbar dunks on the fast break, I think you'll see a team that gets a LOT more easy baskets. Sight unseen, I think Ming will have a much bigger impact than some are willing to admit at this point. I also think Francis will benefit tremendously from his addition to this team.
I also think Ming is going to help our fast breaking more than anything else because of his size and ability to make the outlet pass. We allready know Nachbar can run the break but hopefully we'll have Steve and Cat out there with him.
I think Steve will run a great fast break once he stops trying to pass it to Cat, and looking for the man closest to the hoop.
I think Ming will sit out preseason and a few regular season games. He already says he's tired. I'm hoping he doesn't exceed 20 minutes a game this year.
Look at it this way. If you are a player driving into the basket and you see this moving oak tree in front of you, do you keep driving to the basket or get the hell out of there.
